Unit has performed well for the limited time in service. Easy setup
Welder machine works extremely well and compares ro machines double or triple the price
Great welder for the cost, has a good duty cycle, updates inclued quick connects to change polarity, I've bin using this welder for weaks and I'm happy with its performance, I've bin welding for 40 yrs and have used many welders. Being portable for a 250 amp makes it that much better. EastWood carries good quality tools.
I have used this welder now at least 50 hours since I got it a month ago. I absolutely love it. Been doing mostly 3/16 inch steel but have also done as light as 26 gauge sheet metal and some stainless with the same.035 wire. I would recommend this machine for any home shop but I have mine at work and use it daily. Can't recommend it enough
I needed a welder for half inch stock. Welder worked great with .045 wire , Had a minor problem with the gun not triggering the machine so I called tech support and they sent out a replacement and we are back on the job. Having support means a lot when you have a job waiting . Thank you Eastwood
I'm just a DIYer, but one day my neighbor came to me asked if I could weld this pipe. I stuck it together for him and he told me to be at a job site on Monday. Payed for my welder five times over. Settings inside the hinged cover are great starting points. You can't go wrong.
So far so good. I have had some bad experiences with non US made welders so will be counting on the three year warranty to protect me. The 35' Eastwood extension cable did give me a start when the power on light for this welder started to flicker but re-seating the connections firmly seems to have resolved the situation. Perhaps there should be a test light or meter that one can place at the end to confirm full voltage and amperage.
I've owned a 135 for a long time and have been very happy with it. Miles of wire through it. I was looking for a higher amp machine to handle heavy plate and such. This 250 seems to fit my needs but, the on light is intermittently on and off?The gun is absolute garbage. The diffuser situation is making me want to return the whole machine. Just setting the gun down on the table between welds causes it to shatter. It clogs with spatter when welding. Thus not being able to finish the job until I could go to the store and get more parts? Poor design, is there a better gun for this machine? When contacting tech service I was told we can't help you now and the phone hung up? I expected better,I like using Eastwood products in the work I do and have been happy in the past. Hoping for better outcome. Tracy
I have owned this welder for about three years now. It works well but has a few short comings. First the diffuser is BRITTLE. The first one fell apart the second time I used the machine. The second lasted for over a year with super carefull use, no drops, bangs or rough use and then just fell apart. I don't weld much so this seems like a very fragile piece. Also it does not sit firmly in place. The area it sits in is longer than the diffuser so it can move back and forth which probably assists with the fragility. Second, the leads and cord are short compared to other welders I have used. Lastly, the regulator no longer holds consistant pressure. It creeps up when you pause between welds making the start of the next weld less than optimal. All in all it works well enough and is a cheap alternative to better welders.
Purchase this welder about 4 months ago 1st one breakdown after a small project 2nd second 1 burnt out after running a few beads kept overloading I'm on my 3rd one now once I test this One if it has the same issue I will Requesting my money back this time
