I used the rust Encapsulator for the chassis of my FJ Cruiser. She was in desperate need. I wish it did it earlier but it wasn't too late. I used a paint brush to apply the Encapsulator. It went relatively easily. Of course there is some area I can't reach but let say 75% of the chassis is covered. They recommend 2 coats. I only use 1 quart to to the job and it was just enough. I suggest to buy 2 quarts instead of a gallon. The product is a bit thick and extremely sticky. The usual paint cleaner wont work to clean your brushes. I had to throw away the paint brush after each application. But it's worth it. I suggest to buy the Encapsulator Plus spay can. Some area wood work better with a spray can. Winter is almost there. I will see after the winter how the product perform.
I purchased Platinum rust encapsulation for my John Deere tractor restoration project. I never used Eastwood rust products and had several questions, so I called Tech Support and spoke with Bill G. I cleaned the rusted areas, cleaned with lacquer thinner, and sprayed the area and applied tow coats of Platinum encapsulation. It went on smoothly and looks great. I would definitely recommend Eastwood and rust control products.
Used this product on three occasions and it covers evenly, flowing out quite well when brushed on. By following all instructions and precautions, application and finished product is above and beyond the competitors.
I followed the instructions on the encapsulator can and it went on great. I had read somewhere to make sure it didn't inadvertently get on something you didn't want it on and that is so true. I am very pleased with the finished product.
Really satisfied with this product , easy to use, and it works great!
This is in my opinion the best rust encapsulater available. The only problem is that once opened you better use it all. because I don't care how tight you seal the lid it has a very short shelf life. It will turn solid fast. If anyone has a solution, I'm all ears.
This material really appears to seal up rusty areas. My only frustration was storing it for the next day or for a longer period.
Product seems to be good, packaging sucks. Opened the pint can to put some in separate bottle for use. Carefully cleaned top of can and the lid before closing. Couple of days later had to destroy the lid to open the can. Poured the remainder into a glass jar. You need to come up with a better container system!
Used for the stabilizers on the RV. After disassembling the units, I wire brushing with a stainless steel wire wheel. I cleaned and applied the product according to instructions. Used several coats. After one trip this is what the stabilizers look like.
Rust comes back through paint in a short time. Prepped taking 90 percent of rust off. Product not worth the money.
