I really like the way that the batteries are packaged. The batteries arrived in dual pack plastic containers versus the usual carded packaging. They are pre-charged and ready to use. I read that these batteries are really good. Now I will put them to the test.
These cells have a good amount of heft, weighing about the same as alkaline D cells. This indicates that the 10,000 mAh rating is realistic given that they're fully packed with plates. I've seen some fake rechargeable D cells that weigh next to nothing, like a AA cell inside a D shell. These EBL D cells are the real deal. I'm using these in Ring Spotlights. Each one uses 4x D cells. They have motion detectors and communicate to the bridge for remote access and notifications. I expect the Ring Spotlights to go through batteries quickly. UPDATE: After 6 months use in the Ring Spotlights, the cells were still going strong and could probably go another 6 months. The voltage curve on rechargeables is different than alkaline, causing the Spotlight firmware and Ring app to miscalculate the remaining % battery life.
I started using Two of the EBL D size batteries in my cordless fan in the living room. I live in Palm Springs and we've already seen templates over 105 degrees, so I use this fan constantly. It's been two weeks on the highest setting, about 4 hours a day. I'll keep this review updated, but, for now, it stays at 5 Stars. I highly recommend them so far.
I bought the "D"Cell size charger for next summer when I use my motorized pool float. Sorry for right now as the charger is still in the box.. But I have a charger for "A"< "AA" batteries and that charger from EBL gets a real workout thru out the year. I would highly recommend and of their products
EBL is some of the best Rechargeable Batteries I have ever used .They recharge very quickly and hold the charge for weeks .I got these for a battery battery operated electric fence which has been on for weeks and they haven't ran down yet and I also use them in Mr Beams lights which take D batteries also the Mr Beams lights are brighter and last twice as long now .Get the charger that goes with these also great charger
These batteries are awesome. I bought these to use in a led lantern because of the high price of throw away batteries. They charge in a couple of hours but the best part is that they last longer in a lantern, which is a pretty high drain device, than the name brand batteries I was using and throwing away. Already have paid for their self after two charges. This is the best brand of rechargeable batteries I have found so far. Bought the C batteries too and they are just as good. Great product. I recommend to everyone.
Had to charge them when I received them. They are in a light I use for emergency. After charge they have kept the light on for 8 1/2 hours so far and that pleases me. I was worried because they are not 1.5 volts, but light is bright and will give more than enough light in emergency. Curious how long it keeps shining!
Got them yesterday and put all 4 of them into my normal charger that generally works overnight for AA, and C batteries of similar capacity as these D batteries. Still only showing about 30 % charge after 12 hours. I would of expected them to have some kind of charge when delivered. I hope this equates to a lot of battery life
Completely charged the 4 batteries that I purchased and then went thru a full discharge cycle by putting them in my Coleman LED lantern and letting it run until the batteries were completely flat. Went to recharge the batteries after this one discharge cycle and one battery was failing to charge with an ERR message on recharger's screen. Tried loading the one failing battery into the charger several more times and the ERR message finally went away and began charging again.
These batteries claim to have "no memory effect" and "can be recharged up to 1200 times" but I have had them less than a year and recharged them a handful of times and 6 of 8 have died. I have an EBL 906 charger and the 6 'dead' batteries error out seconds after being inserted into the charger. UPDATE: EBL promptly replaced the dead batteries, let's see how the new ones hold up.
