Replaced the rechargeable batteries in a small drill tool. Reviewed some YouTube “how to” vids. The new setup was 1/4” longer than original so I had to modify a little to get these all back in. But worked great had power before changing. Like new now.
Excellent packaging. No chance of batteries being damaged in shipment.I used them to rebuild a very old kitchen mixer that my wife loves. Last time I had to do this , I took it to a battery place and they did it for a lot more money than these batteries cost. This time I did it and so far the mixer works great.
These Sub C NiCd batteries hold their voltage and take soldering iron high heat very well. Definitly would buy again. Note: used a 1/8" wide soldering tip to solder both 16 gauge wires and 1mm thick nickel tabs onto these 1.2v NiCds. No problems encountered.
Seem to work. Nicely packaged. A bit difficult to solder with regular resin core, so maybe try some acid core solder? Spot welding may be even better. I replaced the 4 old batteries in my Homelite T44174 Cordless Shear. It works great and have not needed to recharge it yet. Note that it took a few hours for me to replace them and a new cordless shear runs around $35-$55. So it is a toss-up as to whether it was worth replacing. But in general I like to save energy & the environment by repairing rather than replacing. (Though obviously a pair of hand shears would be better for the environment.)
did not like this type of battery, has a metal tongue on each side and it flattens our when put in a product. does not stay charged long.
Item was delivered quickly. However, don't do as I did. These have to be soldered, unlike regular batteries that you just pop into your device. My bad. I should have read the description more closely.
So far so good. Used the batteries to rebuild a battery pack for my Channellock 19.2v hand drill which was impossible to obtain. The nickel tabs on the battery were both a positive and negative. As the batteries had to be specifically oriented, most is the tabs didn't align (as I had to align the polarities of the batteries) which then required me to cut them off to solder on the other batteries tab.For the ones that were oriented it was a breeze to solder them together off the battery which meant no heat transfer. Also, as I was soldering nickel strips (I purchased a pack of 100 strips) to the cut nickel tabs it was very quick thereby also minimizing the heat transfer.I have been using the rebuilt battery pack for two weeks now and I am very happy (also given the fact that I would have had to dump the drill) as it is working just like the day I bought it.Only Time will tell.
what are the metal pieces on top for?????????????????
supposed to fit universal chargers, WON'T fit my charger. So I can't charge them. So far I can't find a way to return them, so I wasted money and will have to throw them away.
to expensive took to long to arive and cannot use for anything
