I have been wanting a top handle chainsaw. The Stihl saws were too expensive. I read good reviews about the CS-355T. So, I purchase one. It's a well balance saw, starts easy and has power to handle a 16 inch bar. I have Shindawa and Stihl light weight chainsaws, but this is my favorite.
I had to take this saw to the shop 4 days after I got it because it would not crank after approximately 1.5 hrs of run time. Turns out the factory did not properly set the air gap on the coil. After being fixed under warranty (by the way I received this saw as a replacement for a CS-330T under warranty). Robison Outdoor Power in Nacogdoches Tx is a new saw shop in the area but is by far the best saw shop I have ever used. Echo has stood behind their products and their warranty. This saw has plenty of power and nice weight and balance to it. If your looking for a light weight saw with plenty of power this saw is for you. I recommend this saw to professionals arborist and residents looking to trim limbs and trees aroundo the house
I am a professional tree climber and until my boss purchased a 355t 3 months ago absolutely hands down all the way stihl msg. Shortly after I had to buy one for myself and I am impressed. You can actually over cut limbs rather than hoping the saw gets through it in time for the limb to do what you need it to do. I have not used a stihl 201 but I can't imagine that it could get much better for the extra 175
Bought this little bugger to replace my 200t that someone wanted more than myself. Only had it about 4mos, and so far could not be more pleased. Seems to be extremely well engineered. Ergonomics are superior to the Stihl IMHO. Light weight, well balanced w/ a 14 on it, decent power, not quite in the same league with the 200t, but less than half the price. Blows the ms192t out of the water, ran one of the first 201ts and I enjoy running this rascal more. Don't care much for the Husky top handles, and that's coming from an avid Husky guy. Now only time will tell how it holds up, but with a best in the industry warranty I believe ECHO is confident in their product. I own several of their other outdoor products and have never had a lick of trouble with any of them. All this being said I think there may be a CS501P in my future, to go along with my 27 other saws, Husky, Jred, Stihl, and Dolmar, ranging from 30cc to 121cc...... that should make the wife happy!
I purchased this saw for in tree work. Reasons being the price, weight, power, and features compared to other brands sold locally. A five year warranty is a bonus. I have used it to cut about half of a cord of firewood(locust, ash, and oak) to this date. Nothing larger than 8" diameter and the saw ran like a big saw, not an problems. I can see myself using this saw to do more ground work than originally planned. I have several other saws. The ergonomics of this top handle arborist saw are very comfortable and functional. The saw used less than a tank of fuel and oil to cut this amount of wood. I have yet to try it while in a tree.
I have had this saw for over a month and it rips. I use 200s and 201s at work and the echo starts and cuts just as good if not better. I'm glad I saved a few hundred bucks going with with echo.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I finally fired up my new 355t yesterday, and made about 20 cuts into some fallen pine. This saw rips, making sure to only go wide open while making cuts.
This is a good saw. It has good power, is lightweight, and is easy to use. The few draw backs are that kickback device gets in the way on larger wood, saw plugs up with really wet wood, and unable to adjust fuel mixture (engine dies occasionally and idles rough warmed up)
I really like this saw its fairly light which is what i was looking for tired of lugging around heavier ground saws in trees great power and the saw control is excellent I started climbing using the stihl 201t and the 355t is much better in the trees
After years of using mainly sthil saws, I was hesitant to try anything else. The CS355T has really impressed me. It has good balance, and a great price. The lanyard attachment seems a little wimpy but seems to be holding up just fine
