Had my eye on this saw for a while. On Saturday, I fell a cherry tree.Which was actually three trees growing out of one trunk at the base. This saw worked and cut perfectly. Easy to start and even cutting the tree into pieces for firewood was like a hot knife going into butter. I love this saw and would highly recommend this saw to anyone who wants a real quality saw!!!
This is a capable saw which starts reliably in cold weather. I have used it for felling spruce and birch trees for firewood without any problems. I really like that it is so light and easy to handle.
The Echo is the saw for me, it's currently my third one, I have a CS-590, which is a beast, a CS-400, and now the CS-4010. I've used this saw a couple times already and it's a powerful little beast, cuts aggressively with its 18 inch bar. I bought my first Echo , the CS-590, 11 years ago and it's been trouble free, the Japanese have excellent products, that's what sold me on Echo, the quality, but as an added benefit, I have a chainsaw comparable to the other top notch chainsaws out there at a much better price. In my opinion, Echo can't be beat. Thanks for a great product.
Saw works great easy starting Has enough power needed when cutting. Only negative things I have to say are the clips that holds the cap on, seem little flimsy and it's a little harder to get the chain on than my other saw.
I have owned Stihl chainsaws for 40 years but the newest one has always been very hard to start and floods very easily. My new Echo starts right up every time. My arm thanks you for building a chainsaw that starts and gets the job done.
I got this chainsaw to finish cutting up a big fallen Hackberry tree. I had already limbed the tree with my Makita XGT battery saw, but I needed a gas saw to buck the trunk. I pushed this CS-4010 to the limits of its capability and it did not let me down. I expect it to serve me well for many years to come. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the plastic parts are on the light-duty side.
I bought this saw(CS4010) to replace my CS-400 and I thought the bill quality was considerably less than the CS-400 that it was replacing. IT JUST SEEMED CHEAPLY MADE.
As a homeowner with occasional need for a chainsaw (downed trees, limb removal) this size unit fits the bill. Powerful and long enough to tackle tree trunks, light enough to maneuver for trimming. As a first time owner the owner's manual directions for saw assembly were less than clear, but Echo online videos were helpful.
Picked this up for our larger logs but seem l8ke our 16" performs better. Had issue with brake sticking first use and melted inside of clutch cover. Bought a generic replacement and back in business. I am not sure why but, this one seems to throw the chain a bunch. Overall though, I still like this chainsaw and will continue to use to help clear the new property.
I am hoping this chainsaw performs as my previous two Echos CS 370/400. I’ve not taken new saw out of box to inspect quality and operation of equipment.
