I purchased this product on 06/03/2014 after previously using a backpack type leaf blower for many years that was produced by a different manufacturer. I decided to replace the blower after experiencing a fuel leak problem and subsequently learning that the same model had been previously recalled under a directive that was issued by the “Consumer Product Safety Commission” and the issuance was based on the same aforementioned problem. I wanted to purchase a hand held type blower since I felt that it was more appropriate for my leaf blowing needs since it would provide greater flexibility and maneuverability (ever try bending over or kneeling with a backpack leaf blower attached to your back) when working in tight areas that are usually present in tree and shrub beds. I selected the “PB-255LN” because of its' 5 year warranty, engine size and low noise level features. I also selected this product because of its inclusion of a secondary handle which I understood (after reading a user's review for this product) provides significant assistance when using this product for long continuous durations of time. Lastly, I selected this product because of its' Echo brand name and my familiarity with Echo's maintenance procedures as a result of owning two other Echo manufactured products. The procedures appear to be basically the same across Echo's product line (based upon my experience). My initial inspection and test run of this product indicated that the product is very light weight (when compared to my previous leaf blower) and meets my expectations in terms of providing better flexibility and maneuverability. The product starts up easily and has a cruise control lever that can be used to lock the throttle into a high speed engine acceleration position. This is a subjective type of feature (in my opinion) and is designed of course for those users that don't wish to keep pressing the throttle trigger in order to initiate engine acceleration. I personally will probably not use this feature since I've developed the habit of controlling engine speed by depressing and releasing the throttle trigger. The power appears to be adequate (i.e. I was able to clear out a shrub bed with no problems) and the noise output was not at a level that I would classify as “irritating”. In terms of supporting documentation, I noticed that the instructions for assembling the products' main pipes need to be revised for clearer understanding. The documentation (i.e. the operator's manual) indicates that the locking ring should be rotated until the “lock symbol” appears at the top of the ring. The problem with this statement is that there are two lock symbols. There is a “locked” lock symbol and an “unlocked” lock symbol. It's the “locked” lock symbol that should appear at the top of the locking ring. In addition, maintenance procedures should describe the tools that are required in order to perform the various maintenance steps. I was able to determine what tools should be used for these steps by referencing the owner's manuals for my other two Echo owned products since the maintenance procedures (as stated earlier) are basically the same across Echo's product line. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase of this product with the understanding that this assessment is based upon a small sample size since I have only had possession of this product for approximately three weeks and my leaf blowing responsibilities do not become a necessity until the early fall when trees and shrubs begin to shed their foliage for the winter.
Bought the ECHO PB-255LN blower from the local depot which was available only online. Fired it up using 50:1 mix. Definitely a superior model with respect to weight, noise and blowing. Was using another brand Poulan Pxx previously. Echo beats it in every way. Of course you get what you pay for. Extremely satisfied and expecting many years of service from this product.
I bought this blower a month ago and glad I did. I have used the echo weed eater SRM - 210 for over ten years and still running like the day I bought it, so when the time came this year I was do for a new blower, which my previous blower was not an echo, I knew their was only one brand to buy and that's echo. I first bought the 58 volt battery echo blower but it just did not have the power and run time I need so I exchanged for the PB 255 LN and glad I did. Plenty of power, light weight, and echo dependability. Do what the maintenance guide tells you and echo runs for ever. Thanks for a great product.
I have been using ECHO equipment at my home for at least 25 years. I like the dependability, easy usage, simple maintenance, and longevity. ECHO is great at upgrading their equipment over time. Easier to pull start, lighter weight, QUIETER, ETC... I recently upgraded my hand held ECHO 250 blower to a ECHO 255LN hand held blower. SUPER!! The increase in power is excellent, it is much quieter, GREAT BUY! I buy all my ECHO STUFF online from the big orange hardware store for excellent prices. Echo products are cheaper priced than that other “STEAL” company, but are just as good, even better.
Great machine light weight and powerful enough, enjoying using it,
My wife purchased this blower for me for my birthday to blow debris off the screened pool enclosure. It's a good weight, relatively quiet, and powerful. I am using it for other jobs too in place of my battery-operated blower and it might even be quieter than the battery-operated blower. No issues so far but it's only been a month. No indication it won't hold up.
It handles well and has good air volume at good air speed. Moves leaves well. Starts on first pull and goes a long time on the tank of gas. My only issue is(my fault) that it does not have bottom of the tube adaptor to blow more horizontal. I use it for moving leaves and I believe that would be huge help. Looks good, runs good and does what I need for the most part.
I purchased this blower to replace a Husqvarna blower. It does not blow with the force that the Husky had. That is the only fault I have with my purchase.
I bought this about 1 month ago. I use regular gas with Echo oil mix. After about 5 times using it, it now is very difficult to start. I took it back to dealer. Employer said I should not prime in warm weather. That was not true. Would never start without priming.. takes about 6-8 pulls to start now.. what is problem?
Had the PB-255ln hand blower for a year, when bogs down its garbage....Should have lasted longer than that....
