Echo Original Equipment 60 lbs. Heavy-Duty Spreader - RB-60

After my old lawn spreader needed repair, I bought a Scott Edge Guard. That was a mistake. It felt like I was using a child's play lawn toy. While it wasn't inexpensive, I immediately knew that Scott's plastic creation was not for me. I researched for weeks, and found the Echo RB-60 for a few extra dollars. It's well build, easy to set up and works better than my older professional spreader. I highly recommend.

Good spreader that works right out of the box. However, the biggest con is the agitator is too small for the unit - it works but you need to shake the whole unit to get the extra fertilizer to drop out . Replacement agitators are everywhere but either way it gets the job done. Better quality parts than others so you really can't go wrong.

This is the first Echo spreader I have ever purchased. I intend to use it for fertilizer only. Although it cost more than the previous two Scott's spreaders I have owned I chose it due to the size and pneumatic wheels. The Scott's brand had plastic wheels which were different in my opinion to maneuver around an average size yard with slight elevations. My gas edger, blower and string trimmer are all Echo and they are very dependable. I used this spreader once and I love it so far. It was boxed nicely and easy to assemble the handle.

Built tough, bigger flat (not rounded pneumatic tires) for easy pushing on the grass. Handles are at the right height so there's no strain on your back.

Works well, only used it once so far. East to set and operate and seems to broadcast a good pattern. It is big.

Very sturdy, well constructed. Only minor issue is that hopper dispersal difficult to control when using finely grained product - like lawn insecticide. Even on lowest "2" setting, too much product is released. Echo's recommendation is not to pull lever too tightly, but this is difficult to do while pushing - as lever doesn't "lock" into a position like some other spreaders.

I bought this spreader due to the good reviews on you tube and on various other sights. Two of the reviwers said something about this spreader that is correct. #1 The caps that go into the legs fall out That happened to me on my first outing with the spreader. A small issue I know #2 Some product does not come out when you are close to emptying out the hopper. There are DIY mods on you tube to address this. I don't know how Echo didn,t find this out when trying out the prototype. I don't know why I have to change a design flaw in a spreader when I get it home. That being said I am still pleased overall with this spreader. On two applications it put out insecticide and then fertilizer flawlessly. This is more like constructive criticism than me knocking this spreader! I would have given it 41/2 stars if I could!

Spreader works great. I did have to change the agitator with an after market one because the one that came with it would not spread the last of the product because it doesn't sit down low enough to push product down threw the holes in the spreader

Love the build quality of this, big beefy tires. The only issue I have with this is the gap between the agitator and the bottom of the hopper. Once you are getting to the very last of whatever product you are spreading (fertilizer, etc.) the agitator no longer pushes the product to the holes causing you to have to try and shake and bounce the product out. Please come out with an updated agitator, I have no problem purchasing it but this needs to big fixed. Included photo(not mine) of the issue and what some are doing to fix this.

It's brand new and it's squeaks really loud when I push, very irritating. Seems flimsy... I should have bought the green unit I was considering, buy once cry once. Live and learn.
