Echo PAS-225VP 21.2cc 2-Stroke Cycle Gas PAS Straight Shaft Trimmer Edger Kit

I expected to cut small bushes about 1"-2" in diameter. I think I've even cut some small trees that were over 4" in diameter. The unit is very easy to start and easy to change out cutting heads as well. This is the best trimmer/edger/cutter I've ever owned.

I have nearly destroyed almost an acre of blackberries within a few hours. I am very pleased with this product. The power it has is amazing. Easy assembly!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live on an acreage and bought this a year ago to do string trimming, mostly for weeds but than discovered that the hedge trimmer attachment was an animal that could cut through some pretty tough stuff. With the hedge trimmer being attached to the main body it makes for less stress on the back and allows you to cut without bending down as with a normal hedge trimmer. The trimmer string is also a little thicker than my other Echo hedge trimmer and is a lot easier to change. This thing is a beast.

It is well balanced and is easy to maintain. to chance out the trim line is quick without disassembling the head, and to change out attachments is so simple and just as quick.

Absolutely 0 instructions on how to put together the trimmer attachment with the speed feed head. Yes, after googling a lot and seeing that the instructions for the brushcutter attachment were the same, was i able to figure it out. But with a product warranty on the line, i shouldn't habe to ASSUME that the instructions for one are the same as the other. It was not stated anywhere in the instructions. Another flaw: the little bag of pieces. There should have been somewhere stating exactly what they are for. I shouldn't have to google that before putting it together to see if I was missing something in the installation process

I have been in lawn care for 20 years and never bought ECHO until now. This was the best thing I could have done, should have bought ECHO years ago. This unit out performs all the other BIG NAME brands, easy to start and use. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!

The Brand Echo has quite the reputation for building very capable and durable equipment. I love the way these trimmer handles and tackles large turf; however, there are a couple of issues that I have. 1st issue is that as I had completed the assembly of the product and went to pick it up by the handle, it split straight down the center. Not the best first impression for someone entering into the Echo ecosystem. 2nd was the customer service when contacting Echo directly... it's pretty much non-existent. For anyone spending this kind of money for equipment it is strongly advised to educate yourself as for how to maintain and service your equipment YOURSELF or else you will be had, took and misled! But Walmart on the other hand Absolutely went above and beyond when it came down to Customer Service... Thank You Walmart!

I received as my birthday gift from my wife in June 2015 and have been very happy with it since. I have the trimmer/edger combo unit. The trimmer string loads very easily w/o even removing the string cartridge. Well done Echo! However I received the straight shaft model and probably should have the curved shaft as the straight shaft can be a bit awkward to handle if you are 5'9" tall or less. It's just a little too long and I have to hold it up past a comfortable position to keep the trimmer head level. This causes fatigue if using for long trim sessions. No fault of Echo, just a word to the wise to choose your model with careful thought. Overall, very happy with my gift.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought trimmer with attachments. I have been only able to use it twice since I purchased it new. Worked properly the first two times being used. Ever since, it just bogs down and loses power. Brought to an authorized repair shop. They said carb needed adjustment so it would not be covered under warranty. Used for twenty minutes with same result of bogging down. Been sitting unusable for a year. Tried again and same results. Spent a lot of money for unit and attachments. Not happy with product. Have many other pieces of echo equipment I have been happy with, but this unit has brought nothing but grief, I am sorry to say. May try to get it adjusted again.
