Excellent pole saw. I've used the stihl 135 pole saw which is their comparable model and like the echo better. I have several stihl chainsaws and a couple Husqvarna saws as well. I have the echo pole saw along with the 620 pw and the 2511t echo chainsaws. The echos have been my go to saws now when I go to cut. Always start on just 2-3 pulls and run strong. Best value for the money in my opinion. I'm not knocking the other brands. All my saws have been excellent but I think echo offers the most value. I can't speak to the quality of their home owner line but anything in their professional or x series are great products
My neighbor let me borrow one just like this made by Stihl and I really liked it as it extends to about 10ft via siding out the inner shaft. It gives you the reach you need to get to those high branches that hang down. It is well made and beefy (its heavy and will give you a work out). Echo makes a good product and I believe this one has more power than the Stihl one I used which was probably 8yrs old when I used it last year and Walmart has the best price at $150 less than others. After assembly an fuilds it started right up. Let it run for a few minutes to warm up and break in a little then gave it some gas. Sputtered a little a first then smoothed out and ran like a champ. Took about a minute of off and on throttle after warm up to get where it would go to high rpm upon full throttle but again part of the break in process. Kinda acted like a EFI motor and the ECM and it had to figure out the best parameters lol. But no it has a carborator.
I love this pole saw! I looked at Stihl and Husqvarna and this one beat them both in all categories. True 2 stroke, better built, better warranty and cheaper than both, especially the Stihl! Everyone knows Echo is the way to go.
This saw is nicely balanced and heavy duty. The engine starts easily and runs with plenty of power. It seems this is a professional quality saw that is available to the average homeowner.
Bought this about a month ago and this thing is a beast. I have a lot of huge oak trees I'm trimming up and this pole saw makes easy work of it. So far only had to adjust the chain once unlike many other saws. Cuts fast and true. Only down side is it is a little on the heavy side but with the strap you can rest your arms.
It's been working quite well on clearing low branches around my property. It has plenty of power and is very fuel efficient. I'm really glad I bought the d-handle as it allows a few different hand positions while cutting limbs of different heights. So far I have no complaints, just hope it is a durable piece of equipment.
I have a little experience with using chainsaws but this is the first I ever bought. I honestly couldn't really be happier It's works like a dream. Just a few simple steps to assemble and starts right up. I didn't imagine it would be so quiet. Like a low little purrr. Has started right up and cut right through Everytime . It is a little heavy fully extended , but is to be expected when holding an engine and a chain on a long stick. Surely one of my favorite new tools I've bought this year. Totally worth spending a couple hundred more to get something you know is going to work well for the years to come. And I wouldn't suggest buying anything but this!
I bought this saw a month or so ago. Have used it to raise the canaopy where I mow & use my tractor. Always starts easily and adjusting chain is a breeze. Cuts like butter. I have only cut up to about 4" but did so with little effort. I would recommend this tool to anyone that is serious about a quality pole saw.
I haven't used it enough yet to give a good review but, it is well built. The only thing that I do know is that it's VERY HEAVY!!... I'm 68 years old and wonder if I made a mistake!!...I would like to see if I can get a shorter shaft assembly.
First off, I am a hard core DIYer. I bought this saw about a month ago and have used it twice so far. I have about 6 forested acres and will be using it to provide fire clearance over the next 6 months or so. It works great and has great reach. The downside is, it is heavy. Using the provided shoulder strap helps, but does limit the reach a few feet. Over all I rate the saw 4 stars. If it was just a few pounds lighter, it would rate 5 stars. I do recommend it because it works great. It is expensive, but for the quality you get it is worth it. I also own a Echo chainsaw and love it.
