Trim & edge like a pro

New Homeowner September 5, 2026

I have used a lot of different string trimmers over the years. This one works! Used with a 5ah battery, it's capable of knocking out a ton of edging and trimming on a 0.6 acre lot with ease. Love the feed from the excellent head design. No more time wasted with managing the tool - just gets the job done.

A Senior Opinion

James A September 11, 2025

I purchased this Echo DSRM-2600 to replace an Echo SRM 3020-U trimmer/brush-cutter. Initially, the 3020U was an excellent machine that was exactly what was needed to contend with the tall grass, thick weeds, and small saplings on the hillside of the property. However, after a few passes, saplings were removed and grass and weeds were "under control." Then the 3020-U became something of a burden principally because of its size, its power, and its weight. It was just more than I needed (or could handle for a long period) to maintain the property. I decided to downgrade to a lighter, easier to handle unit, but one that still offered "professional grade" power and reach because of the nature of the property. I also wanted to move from gas power to battery power principally for fuel and maintenance cost purposes. After reading and watching reviews I chose the DSRM-2600 with the 5.0 Ah battery, rapid charger. So far, I am delighted with my choice. At first I was concerned about the weight of the battery and its location, but the unit has excellent balance. The long, straight shaft lets me get under bushes, and of course the Speed Feed head works great. One other thought: I acquired this unit towards the end of the growing season and the battery had sufficient power for me to complete my trimming in about 50 minutes or so on one charge with some to spare. In late spring and summer when the stuff is really growing it can often take two hours and a refill of the gas tank. Last month I started my 90th trip around the Sun, so next year, if I have to stop trimming to recharge the battery, I'll likely consider that a bonus.

Echo DSRM-2600 is a workhorse

Lanie April 21, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Echo DSRM-2600 battery-powered weedwhacker to maintain my fenced five-acre property and I am so happy with this purchase! I have terrible luck with gas-powered tools but needed something tough enough to cut thick vines and baby oak trees, and the DSRM-2600 slices through them with ease. The battery lasts a long time and recharges quickly, and the whole unit is well balanced enough that I don’t really need a shoulder strap. It took a few months to use up the prefilled line, but I just switched to Echo Black Diamond and loading the new line was very easy. I have zero issues with this weedwhacker and highly recommend it as a gas alternative!

Light, Fast and Powerful

MItch_again April 20, 2026

This thing absolutely screams. My back is a bit trashed, so using trimmers, w/ straps, w/ handles etc, has always been an issue. I'm not claiming this is the cure, but I can tell a major difference. I have used an echo srm225 for years and it's a good trimmer, but the power difference between it and this are night and day. This thing turns heavy grass and fines into a green mist. Granted, I'm filthy, but man does it rip!

Great Power Tool for the Lawn

RodH April 20, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a week ago as a replacement for another Echo String Trimmer that the autowind button broke. It has several features that are really great. Choice of two spool speeds for one and extremely easy to assemble.

I was on the fence - not anymore.

We've been running the DSRM-2600 all season and I have 2 very strong examples of the quality of this bad boy. Firstly, our trimming crew now races to the trailer so they can grab the battery trimmer first at each lawn (I need to order some more). And secondly, our clients are lakefront cottage and Airbnb owners - they love that we can get the job done without even knowing we are there. I'm sure the neighbours love the reduced sound waves travelling across the lake as well.

Looses power

Hanan June 22, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my Echo gas trimmer for several reasons. First, the ease of starting it. Second, its power. I have had three in 7 years due to it loosing power after around two years of use. The oil that leaks out prevents good air flow, no matter how much I clean it. When I squeeze the throttle it slows down then dies completely. I've had people work on it, but nothing seems to work! That is my only complaint because they are not cheap weedeaters.

Excellent tool with one flaw.

Dreww April 18, 2026

The tool it self is easy to use, powerful enough to get the job done, however I do think that the design could have been improved by either enclosing the battery with a lid/cover as I find it quite hard to remove the battery once some dust/sand falls on it.

Great when it works properly!

Bill81 June 27, 2026

Have this trimmer for close to two years and when everything‘s running correctly it's awesome. However, it's getting ready to go back in the shop for the third time because the trigger mechanism keeps locking open. Had to remove the battery today to get it to stop. I've owned every brand of trimmer on the market and still say their PRO model gas trimmers are the best made. Very much underwhelmed with all of their battery products however and have owned several. And all the time I've owned this it may have 15 to 20 hours of actual use as is now heading back to the shop again.
