Sets up very quickly. We used the roll of plastic edging first but mulch would wash away with rain. Decided on eco border since it was recycled. I just butted it up against existing edging. It is a little pricey but extremely sturdy with nice height to keep mulch in place.... definitely worth it and much cleaner lines
Not a landscaper by any stretch of the imagination, but my wife and I tackled this project anyway. What an easy install!! We knocked out over 130' in just a few hours. Really great product!! Impressed with the quality/thickness of the material, but it's also flexible. Makes nice turns, just need to take your time and lay things out properly.
Easy Installation and flexible enough to handle curves. I used it on my front yard, which is on a hill. I only bought enough for a small section that has mulch, plants, and flowers. It looks pretty good, so I am going to order more for a larger area in my yard. I recommend this for those who do not have a lot of time to work on a long yard project.
This edging is super easy to install. Aside from hitting an occasional rock or root, the stakes drive in the ground nicely and held the edging down well. It is relatively heavy, which helps with holding it in place. The sections bend easily. I had no trouble getting curves in the design. The only thing I wish they would change in the future is a metal stake. Several of my stakes bent slightly when hitting rocks and roots, however, I took a metal canopy stake to start the hole and replaced the metal state with the ones enclosed. Aside from that, great product and time will tell how it holds up to the weather. I used this at a commercial location, but will definitely be purchasing smore for the house! Finally, the red is not really red as in the photo...it is more of a brownish or dark brick color.
I have easily installed 100s of feet of these borders and an extremely satisfied. 0ver 5 years on my oldest borders and they still look like the rest of the newer border layouts in our yard.
I had never installed edging before and this was super simple to use. It's flexible and I was easily able to anchor it into the ground using a small rubber mallet. So far, it's doing it's job. I'd definitely use this again.
Smartest edging ever! This is one of the best purchases I've ever made! It was so easy and no digging. I have ordered 5 boxes and now will be purchasing 10 more.
If I had the chance to do this all over, I would have just went with the Vigoro composite edging kit. Much NICER curves and easier to form shapes with. For this kit, I had to completely redo it and instead of placing it on top of the grass as pictured, I had to remove it, reverse the layout of it so that the flat edge faces the lawn and the other side facing the mulch. Instead of placing it on the grass, I placed it directly on the soil instead so the top of the edger is now only 1" above the lawn. The original purpose of using this edger "edge" to guide the lawn mower is now completely useless since its facing the mulch. BUT, it looks much nicer now. It was looking very tacky with the rubber edger sitting on tow of the lawn. Plus there are HUGE gaps at every connection point where there is a CURVE. Also, I had to hack this thing to make it work. I used a hack saw to trim part of the edger so it can fit the curve more and I used pipe straps to screw the 2 connecting pieces together. That was the only way to make it work. See attached photos on how I used pipe straps and screws. to join the edger together. Just need to paint it black when I have the chance. Maybe apply roof caulking to fill in the gaps between the joining pieces.
Lots of problems trying to get this item. First order was for 2 boxes, I only received one. They then issued a replacement and it arrived in a square box to short for the 4 ft sections. 3 of the pieces were curled to fit and the remaining 3 were broken up into pieces ranging from 18" to 2 ft 3". (see photos) Now I have to pack it back up, wait for FedEx to pick it up and then wait for my $69.54 refund. I really wanted this item but to many issues. I believe Lowes also sells it so I will have to go there to purchase the rest of what I need. This entire process has been a nightmare. In all fairness, This may not be the complete fault of the company this is purchased from, as it appears FedEx may have repackaged it. However, it definitely needs to be shipped in a stronger box by the manufacturer, as even our first order (where we received one of the two boxes ordered) arrived with the box badly damaged. It is quite heavy and I believe gets poorly handled by FedEx. Nice product but to many issues trying to get it.
Good luck on doing anything with a curve. Tried to do 16 feet around my tree, had to end up going 20 feet. The pegs easily break through the backside and curves leave gaps. See pictures below. Left 2 star instead of 1 due to the fact that it does hold the mulch in.
