Smart, simple and worth it!
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) The Ecobee Smart Thermostat Essential is a great balance of functionality and value. Setup was quick and easy thanks to the detailed app instructions! It looks clean on the wall, the touchscreen is intuitive (if a bit slow), and the smart features like scheduling and eco+ adjustments are genuinely helpful. I've already noticed some energy savings, and it works flawlessly with Alexa and HomeKit! I absolutely love it and can't recommend it enough!!

Software Not Great
It took several days of playing around with the software to get the thermostat to perform the way I wanted it to. The website is not that helpful, but it will get you through the basics. If you're not inclined to dealing with many software menus, nor fully understand your HVAC system, you may want to avoid this thermostat.

today it arrived. the item box is ripped, torn and fingerprints all over the thermostat. obviously very used and returned. this is extremely unexpected for expecting a brand new thermostat.

Works Intermittently
I've had the product for 4 months. When power goes out temporarily, the unit does not reboot. Removing the thermostat from the backing plate and reinstalling reboots the unit sometimes. Sometimes I have to do this multiple times before the unit begins to reboot.
