ecobee4 Smart Thermostat + Room Sensors, No Hub Required

great price, easy to install and set up

I've had my Ecobee 4 for about three weeks now, and am very happy so far. I'm looking forward to seeing my first usage report once I complete my first calendar month. I just got into smart home devices, so that's how I got looking into this category of thermostats. The Ecobee 4 seemed to be exactly what I was looking for and the fact that it included the Amazon Alexa service was a plus. I definitely recommend this thermostat.

Got my New Ecobee 4 with built in Amazon Alexa and very excited to share my experience with you all. First off I want to say I don't know how I went this long not owning an Ecobee Thermostat. I have always had Nest in my home but after using the Ecobee 4 for a few weeks it's a much better thermostat in my opinion. The new Ecobee 4 has a built-in speaker and mic for Alexa and surprisingly it was much louder than I thought it would be, and very clear. Just give Alexa a command and you get that familiar blue LED at the top of the Ecobee that it's listening. Commands with Alexa on the Ecobee 4 seem to be even a touch faster than some of the other Echo's in my home. Setup was a snap and this time around I set it to control my Humidifier as well. It also came with 1 sensor and I think the sensors are what really sets the Ecobee apart from other smart thermostats. I ended up getting an additional 2 sensors for a total of 3. The Ecobee 4 can be setup to follow you in the house based on sensor activity so if you travel from room to room the temp will adjust. These sensors are great and when added to a Smart Hub they can be used to trigger a flow based off motion or temperature. When I first setup the Ecobee 4 I entered my home , away, and sleep temp ranges and I haven't touched it once to adjust, its doing a great job all on it's own. The app is very easy to navigate and also they have an amazing dashboard on Ecobee's website that allows you to get some great data history on usage. I added it to SmartThings and its working great and coming soon to Wink as well. Having the built in Amazon Alexa allowed me to have yet another room in my home that can be controlled by voice. Overall I am very impressed and I highly recommend getting one if you're in the market. I have tried several smart thermostats in the past but the Ecobee by far offers the best features for the price especially now with the built-in Amazon Alexa.

I was reluctant to purchase but happy I did in the end. I have a boiler system that has been here from the 60's. After seeing that my honeywell thermostat only had 2 wires I thought I was going to have to return, but with a little patience and youtube I was able to just add another 2-wire cable with its own power source (AC block) and all was good!

I'm an HVAC contractor and love this thermostat. I installed in my own house. We have had nothing but trouble with Nest (or what we call them, PEST) Thanks for making a stat that easy to use, install and control. The wireless room sensors are such an asset to controlling the comfort in my home by averaging the temps in multiple spaces. I will be selling these to all of my customers.

Adding Ecobee4 is an awesome addition to our family because of Alexa, and great sensor controlled home atmosphere. Sensors adjust temperature both hot and cold as per your setting, and Alexa ais always there to follow your instruction in adjusting temperature, and to talk and ask for any thing on the internet... its great fun to have Ecobee4 in out home .... highly recommended to any one looking to a comfortable home home atmosphere control device !!!!

When I purchased my ecobee4 thermostat, I also paid for its installation. Having received the ecobee4 delivery on July 1, 2025, I am still awaiting contact from Walmart as to when it will be installed. When will it be installed?

Horrible experience! I purchased the ecobee which was already registered to another customer. Customer service was horrible. Kept asking me to reinstall and try other things in which I did 6 times. It was password locked registered to another customer, but was supposed to be new.

Purchased 2 ecobee4 Smart Thermostats for adult children for Christmas. Followed installation instructions with all needed wires present. Both did not work. Called professional HVAC installers in different cities and both did not wish to install these stating they have been nothing but trouble. This seller only had a 30 day return policey with Christmas falling outside of that. Seller does not respond. I'm stuck with their junk.

Very unhappy with my purchase! There was a problem while trying to install the unit. When we called Ecobee they said it had been registered two years prior. So I was sold a refurbished unit! I was not told that the unit was refurbished, I would never have made the purchase if I had known that. Waiting to see what the seller is going to do about it and by the way I thought that Walmart was the seller.
