The filter was a great fit for my car.

The first one I received rattled and was unusable; it may have been dropped, I don't know. It was also manufactured in 2017 (2022 now) and had a ton of black crud in the threads. I contacted Ecogard and they sent me another one with a couple of air filters for free. Great customer service, eh? However, the replacement filter was also over four years old and had crud in the threads. It didn't rattle when shaken, though it still felt a bit chintzy. Not to be deterred, I meticulously cleaned the threads and installed the filter. Either this one was defective too or it was just the most restrictive oil filter I'd ever used. My VVT system made noise on every startup, hot or cold. My engine also had noticeably less power and just felt sluggish. I replaced it about two days later with my go-to Fram Ultra Synthetic filter and my car was immediately smooth, quiet, and quick again. Don't bother with this one. Probably any other filter would be better and most of them cheaper as well.
