I bought the 4200 unit for its similarity to my prior Kenmore unit. Turned out it's absolutely perfect. Easy installation & programming. The only difference I could see is that it protrudes about 2 inches more from the back wall ...not a BIG deal for me. Would absolutely recommend it 100%.
Installation was straight forward and is a accurate replacement for Kenmore. You don't need buy a separate bypass valve - a bypass comes with the softener. Despite the claim that the unit is kept clean during manufacture, I had to sterilize and recharge the softener two successive times in order to flush out a slight residual “plastic” taste. I am very happy with the product.
Our 10 year old water softener started leaking resin all of a sudden and it was a huge nightmare to unclog all the faucets, toilets, etc. Our new EcoPure softener arrived super fast, and I feel like I get a good deal. We were able to install on our own which saved a lot of money.
We bought this to replace an old kenmore water softener that leaked and hadnt be working since we moved in. The install went perfectly and for the first time ever we have a functioning water softener. It fit perfect, runs quiet and has made a significant difference in our water.
Purchased this and the 3/4" bypass valve to replace my 10yr old Kenmore Intelisoft 370 which is no longer available. Installation was very easy. No new plumbing. Similar features/operation. Happy with the unit so far. Biggest issue was getting the old softener out of the basement with the resin tank full of water and a bag of salt and water in the brine tank! Very heavy....Cleaned it out later.
I am quite pleased with my EcoPure 42,000 Grain Water Softener. It works well, with no problems since I had it installed. The first one that was delivered was damaged beyond repair; its replacement had a cracked top. This model cannot be installed without help from a plumber, in my opinion.
Shipped fast and easy to install. We did have to get different fittings to hook up but overall that was no big issue. (Previously had Kenmore Ultrasoft 480) Programming it was no problem using the instruction manual. We've only had for 2 weeks as of this review, but so far we really like the product and would recommend.
This water softener is the same size as the Kenmore one that I replaced which made it easier to install. I wish the description had been clearer that the connection piece was included as I bought that separately. Now I have one that will sit in a box gathering dust. A needless expense.
It works so far, but it has only been a couple weeks. The plastic tank and cover seem thin and not that sturdy. I do not like the top cover - while you can remove it, if you need to work on anything underneath (such as removing the venturi to clean it), the short length of the wires from the control panel to locations on the valve assembly require detaching a couple of the connections to provide enough work room. Very poor design. Also it is difficult to reattach the cover due to the clearance between the bypass and the back of the unit. Never had those problems on my older Kenmore 420.
have called twice now and got the run around both times they will not honor there warrant, the fill cycle does not work and they will not send out a tech to fix it. this is not my first water softener i know how they operate. poor company will never buy anything from them again
