My barn mates tell me I have a saddle pad problem ... I must have one of every type made! I have been using this pad for a couple of months now and it is my current favorite. I wanted a little bit of extra cushion in my saddle pad, but not so much that it interfered with the contact or created bounce. I like that I can adjust the amount of padding and even vary it front and back if I need to when my saddle gets close to needing the flocking adjusted. It stays in place, my saddle doesn't slide and the excellent wither clearance stays that way through the ride. The inserts are pretty easy to change out/remove for washing, but you do need to be careful - I tore one a little bit putting it back in. I got the black and it washes up nicely. The only thing that would make me happier with this pad is if it were an inch longer on the spine and an inch or so longer on the drop. It's not too small for my dressage 17.5" saddle, but my personal preference would be to have it bit larger. You can't go wrong with the price. Other shim pads are quite a bit more expensive and I think this works just as well.
I have a very hard to fit qh. She has a weak top line and this pad is exactly what she needed. To be able to shim it differently as she develops is perfect. I've had other shimmable pads but this one is the best thus far and very affordable.
I bought this a month ago and have used it at least 10 times. It washes great. The foam provides just enough support for my horses back.
I have had this pad less than one month, and have used it 3 times now. I love the color. Overall, I really like this pad. I bought it because I have some ThinLine shims, and I wanted something to use them in. The pockets on this pad are a lot bigger than the ThinLine shims, so I am using the shims that came with the pad, which are not of the same quality as the ThinLine. So far they are working fine though. The only other thing I can fault with this pad is that it is almost too small for my saddle. I have an 18" dressage saddle, and there is very little room to spare length wise.
I love this pad as the shims are great for adjusting as the horse develops. It stays still and doesn't make me feel lifted, bouncing or removed from the horses back. I use this pad 3-5 time a week and have had it for over 6 months and it washes easy. I have torn a shim some taking them in and out, but I just have to be careful. I wish the pad were a bit longer and had more material at the wither to create a higher wither clearance as my OTTB boy has a shark fin for withers.
