These are one of my favorite adapters to use. I purchased one for almost all my cars that are older classics. Very simple to put together and install. Is very happy with the product
I purchased it a few weeks ago because I didn't know that my new holley 750 cfm carburetor wouldn't fit my quadra jet intake. As it says it fixed the problem, easy installation, and fit like a glove on my 454 big block Chevrolet engine.
I bought this spacer to raise my carb to clear the heater hose fitting with the gas lines, worked perfect!
this adapter bolted up to my 86 chevy truck manifold and the carb fit on without drilling anything.. only problem is the studs have fine thread on the top and the nuts in the kit did not thread on. also my throttle cable bracket is held on with one bolt until i can rig something up
Lower gasket did not fit well. Needed a little trimming to fit perfectly. 3 out of the 4 phillips screws used to mount the plate were way to tight and made out of to soft of aluminium which caused me to strip one of them. Went to ace hardware to get allen head screws to mount it.
Happy with the adapter. Quality was lacking on hole placement as they didn't align with manifold or carb (typical universal adapter). Wish they could shave some thickness off and/or make it phenolic as I'm now having heat issues into the carb/fuel.
I read the reviews and decided to give this product a try anyway, and this is what I found: 1. The spreadbore gasket provided not only does not match my manifold, it doesn't match the adapter itself, picture to be provided. 2. The studs provided have two different threads, one end for the adapter, and the other end for the nuts to hold down the carb. Unfortunately the nuts provided are for the same thread end that goes in the adapter, so nothing is provided that is able to secure the carb. 3. The studs provided are not straight, you can see them wobbling as you screw them all the way in. 4. I am using a Holly carb with this adapter, and there is not enough clearance for one of the accelerator pump bolts. Grinding is required for clearance. Short of these short falls, it probably is a good product. Haven't made up my mind if I am returning it or not.
Bought this adapter for my brand spankin' new 1411 carb. Started up the big block Chevy, and it won't idle. So I think the mixture screws are outta wack. Adjusted e ough to keep it running. When I get under the hood it sounds like there's a 20 foot snake in there. I start checking vac ports, and finally find the problem is the whole front of the adapter has not sealed.I did use both upper and lower gaskets if your wondering. Never had to return an Item to Jegs before. . Hopefully I don't have a problem.
Bought this for my 67 Camaro spreadbore manifold. Gasket has a horrible fit ..invades over the spreadbore primary bores...will limit airflow. Also, studs are both fine and coarse thread...coarse go in the adapter. They gave me 4 coarse nuts to secure the carb on fine threaded stud end. Had to stop the whole job and go looking for fine nuts...no luck at Home Depot...had to go buy a whole new mr gasket carb stud kit as they gave the correct fine thread nuts....terrible!
The adapter does not fit on a manifold with the EGR vavve no possible way complete waste of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
