This intake is a work of art wow its awesome just to look at I give it 5 stars .I followed all the advice for the install type of gaskets Gaskesinch and sealent on ends not cork gaskets I Dremel out a few holes for the pushrods and all came out great . Although here's the deal I have a 69 F250 with stock 390 crank mild cam 265/275 comp cam headers 2.5 " exhaust 600 4bbl and I wasn't really like whoa on the first drive why ? I looked down into this intake and it was like Hello , Hello , Hello ,Hello ECHo those runners are huge and work well with aftermarket heads and built components to go with it . Some on forums say oh no don't get the regular performer that's just weight savings you will never hit 5,000 RPM with a performer you need the RPM Well .....yes and no you will never hit 5,000 with a 360/390 with truck heads that came out of a F100/250 that originally had a 2bbl that's a puller not a high performance engine like a 428 FE . I actually had a little better performance with the 350 CFM 2bbl and the stock runners my heads will never flow enough to justify this intake so I put this out there for those who have a tractor engine and think there going to do a 10 second 1/4 I love the intake it's the info other net racers are putting out the regular performer would had been the right choice for my mild 390.
I have another RPM on one of my other engines. They're very good at making power and torque. I recommend buying Edelbrock's bolt kit for this manifold. Makes for an easier installation.
Jegs rocks. Edelbrock rocks. I wish the manifold had a vacuum port on the back of the manifold and one more hole in the water jacket but I have a drill.
This intake going to make my all roller 390 ford with the edelbrock heads I got built really come alive and look good with all the performance parts.
Bought this to go on the 428 Ford big block going in me 1956 Ford F100. Can't wait to have everything put together and running.
Feels like I gained twenty hp.and the throttle response is quick . Nice upgrade.
