everything you need
this speedup solenoid solved the problem that I was having when my A/C compressor engaged while I was at a stoplight in gear at idle ,engine temp at 200 , (FL.outside temp 98) I would lose 300 rpms and at times my 350 would quit. Now with this solenoid,a snap too install,.tie into the Compressor hot wire, adjust the plunger to the desired rpms when the A/C comes on, But in order for the plunger to extend to where you want it ,you have to accelerate the throttle linkage on the carb. which will allow the plunger on the solenoid to extend and it will remain extended until your Compressor shuts down. Can you tell I love this thing? Hope this helps

Easy to install, works as it should
I bought this because in the summer months I need to run my A/C, which causes my trucks rpm to drop near stalling. This little idle up solenoid installed easily on my Edelbrock carburetor and solved the problem. It took less than 20 minutes total time to bolt to the carb, connect to the A/C power wire, and then fine tune with the throttle.

Spendy But First Rate Quality
The quality of this product is first rate, as you would expect from Edelbrock. It cost over a hundred bucks; other solenoids, for universal applications, are available for less than fifty bucks. It fits up perfectly, and saved me an hour or two that would be required to fabricate a mounting bracket to mount a universal solenoid. I finally figured out that it is a ratcheting solenoid: it is not strong enough to overcome the force of the throttle return spring and open the throttle. It acts by blocking the return of the throttle after it is opened by the throttle cable. So, if the air conditioner compressor starts while the engine is at idle, nothing happens until the throttle is opened by the cable on the accelerator petal. This is not a problem if you remember to open the throttle slightly when you hear the compressor start as you are idling. It could be a problem if you leave the engine idling for long periods.
