My daughter is learning to code at school and LOVES to draw so this was the perfect educational toy for her!
This was a gift for my grandson . He loved it.
my son is 9 and this is great
The robot is a very engaging gift for a child that likes to learn new skills. This is a great introduction for anyone interested in coding and following directions. My daughter loved being able to use the robot to draw and create something all by herself. It's nice to be able to hang up the works of art she has created using Artie.
My kids are obsessed! I was honestly pretty intimidated by this toy, as I have no clue how to code. It was so easy to pick up though and my kids all got the concept soooo fast! I have a 9 year old, 6 year old and 4 year old and they have ALL enjoyed playing with this so much. It is so fun to watch them learn and create in such a unique way. I've already told my mom friends that they should get this for their children. It is incredible!
What a great and fun time to spend with my little ones. This artie max coding robot from educational insights is great. Takes a few steps to set up and get going but after that, the fun is endless. My kids love watching this thing get to work. Can draw awesome shapes and designs.
From a parent who is a programmer and a kid who loves Scratch and coding we had to give this a go. The interface was easy to connect to and navigate, the programs were all clear and tutorials helpful. We used a few types of paper on a clean desk surface and had trouble. Running the robot with different manually or preinstalled designs was easy but the robot did not cooperate. When it moved it seemed to get stuck and the marker would create a jumble in a space less than centimeter instead of executing the full design. We ran Artie on a full batterie as well. The idea is there but the robot needs to be lighter or the wheels more durable.
It took us a couple of tries before we could find a device that Artie would work on. We couldn't do it on the tablet because we needed the internet and Artie was connected via the internet and another computer was just having issues. Once we were able to get it working, my 9 yr old had a great time with it. She did the demos, but quickly started figuring out how to make other shapes. Luckily we have giant old construction plans so we did not have to worry about space on the paper, but I can see how that could be an issue.
I received this product for free for my honest opinion. This device is a lot of fun when it works. It goes from simple to much more advanced complex coding. It is a great way to get your kids feet wet in the coding world. The issue I had which was a big one is that it rarely would connect. I tried on multiple PCs, tablets and phones and I could only get it to connect about 7% of the time. Then once your are connected the Artie Max I had would often disconnect and then would not reconnect. Once it disconnected in the middle of the drawing it would stay going in whatever direction it was heading until I flipped the switch off. I went to the website and updated the firmware. I troubleshooted with the limited information provided. The other part to keep in mind if you have a young kid and an older one beware of the younger kid jamming a marker in the marker spot with the lid on. It was nearly impossible to get the lid out but after 45 minutes of frustration we got it out. Overall it's an impressive unit they should give up on the self projected Wi-Fi and use either your local Wi-Fi or USB to connect to code. The onboard Wi-Fi is awful and takes an incredibly long time to load the local website through the Artie Max. I have read about their previous model and it sounds like they eventually solved most the connectivity issues on that one so maybe someday in the future this will get the much needed patch to solve that issue. Until then I cannot recommend this product.
First I was happy to share product with my kids but when it come to set up there where I start having problems... First I set up password for wifi that when it keep tell me pass word was wrong and couldn't reset it.. I just gave up when trying to multiple time
