It's like a blast from the past. I always wanted one of these years ago. Quality Product. The big problem now is the Ants. Buying live ants is way more expensive than you might think. Anywhere from 20 to up to 600 dollars. Really im not kidding.

This ant factory is fun and sturdy! It was cool watching the ants move around in it. The only complaint I had was the company that you can purchase the live ants from. I ordered them and they took FOREVER to get to me and when they finally did they were dead. I just caught some of my own ants and put them in the factory.

My 5 year old daughter has been very interested in bugs lately so this was a perfect activity for her. She was just thrilled to watch the ants build their tunnels. It opened many conversations about nature and how ants are so strong. We have this on the kitchen table in a spot where the whole family can see them hard at work. I'd be lying if I said the parents didn't find it entertaining too.

I loved it. It is really fascinating to see how fast the ants started to work and make their way down which ended up creating their small tunnels. My family totally enjoyed watching them. I like the fact that this ant farm came with the sand. The box is quite durable and easy to put together. It is just a good educational tool to maintain the whole family entertained. This would make a great gift for anyone.

My daughter is all about insects and animals so she has loved having her own ants to watch. This kit is very durable and easy to use, watching your ants is very neat. Actually getting the ants from the suggested site took a while and they were all dead on arrival the first go around so had to reorder. The kit itself is very nice, would definitely recommend.

The Educational Insights GeoSafari Ant Factory was sent to me complementary for testing and review purposes however this is still my honest review. It's engaging for most age ranges. The children love it. They will count the ants they see, they will try to predict what direction their tunnel may go next, and so much more! I definitely recommend this over other ant farms I've seen or used. Would be great in a science class!

This is a great way to show the life cycle of ants. It took about three weeks after we ordered our ants for them to arrive. We quickly filled the ant farm with the sand provided and used the hole maker to make their tunnels. We added our ants. I wanted to give it a few days before reviewing so that I could give an honest answer. It's a little scary knowing how dangerous harvest ants bites are. I was concerned most with them being in the house. The ant farm seemed secure at first. However my son tipped it over and the top fell off. A few of the ants escaped. On the package that comes with the ants, says if they escape or get out you need to destroy them immediately. Which is kind of sad. That's what we had to do to the ones that got out. We were quickly able to close it so no more of the ants escaped. The ants mostly stick to the top in our case. They don't really travel down into the sand. Half of the ants we received were dead. Which they warn you of when you make your purchase. Overall my son loves to watch the ants and it's a great way to educate your child. It's fun to watch them. However I would've liked to have the Ant food come with this. Instead of having to buy everything separate because it does get a little expensive. We love the experience of the ant farm.

The Educational Insights GeoSafari Ant Factory provided an excellent summer science experiment for my children. I don't believe this should be left within reach of younger children as my kindergartner nearly knocked this over several times in his excitement while supervised. Overall my children were extremely happy with the ant factory and had fun watching the colony grow.

My child loves bugs. I really thought it would hold his attention much more than it actually has. The ants were active, but they didn't actually make as many tunnels as I thought they would. Overall, it was fun to watch, but really we just watched them eat. We did share with my child's teacher and we should have bought more ants. Which we are willing to try in the coming weeks. We did enjoy this product, but it definitely was not what we were expecting. I think we were expecting to watch the ants work more or dig more. Rather than watch them eat.

Our base for the ant factory was very wobbly. I was always so nervous it would fall and ants would get everywhere. So far it hasn't and we've had it a few weeks. It is very cool to watch how ants act and my 6 year old is very entrigued and shows me new things everyday.
