The Educational Insights Butterfly Bungalow has been an absolute dream, we received the bungalow in the mail first and then shortly after we got our caterpillars. Everything has gone beautifully, this process was so fun to watch for the whole family. Our children loved to check on the caterpillar babies every evening, we got to watch the entire butterfly lifecycle step by step. The excitement as we waited for the butterflies to emerge from their chrysalis was everything. My kids loved watching them eat and flutter about, the bungalow is the perfect size, complete with a handle, a magnifying glass and a log to hold the lid. There was plenty enough room in the bungalow for our little pretties to stretch their wings. I definitely see us raising butterfly’s again, it’s truly fun for the whole family.

This butterfly bungalow kit from Educational Insights GeoSafari Jr. is so very cool. The whole family loves it! My six year old daughter calls the caterpillars her babies and checks on them all the time. We are suprised at how fast the caterpillars grow from one day to the next. I love that it includes a little booklet that tells you how to care for the caterpillars and also the changes they go through to become a butterfly. It also comes with a magnifying glass and a holder for the lid of the jar when the caterpillars form chrysalis there. The mesh butterfly habitat is super easy to set up just pop open and attach the cover over the top with the velcro strips. I love that it is reusable and we can do this again! Keep in mind when you get this butterfly kit that the caterpillars are not included in the box, you will have to use the paper in the box to order your caterpillars ( in case you have very impatient kids you can wait to tell them about the butterfly habitat until you have received the caterpillars in the mail.) Out caterpillars came USPS and I retrieved then from the mail box immediately, they were all alive and healthy. I would keep track of their shipping so they don't get left in a hot mailbox as the weather gets warmer. This kit is so easy the caterpillars have all the food they need included in the cup with them. It is absolutely fascinating to watch them grow and change and an excellent opportunity for my daughter to learn and have fun. Kid tested and mom approved. We will definitely be ordering more caterpillars.

My Granddaughter is very excited at the prospect of raising caterpillars and watching them metamorphose into butterflies. The habitat was easy to assemble and the enclosed instruction booklet very clearly outlines every step of the process. The bungalow itself is sturdy and well designed and should house the critters comfortably-until their eventual release. All in all, it seems to be an intriguing and educational project and I will report back and leave another review when we have completed the whole process.

The Educational Insights Butterfly Bungalow is such a neat gift for almost any child. We are just in the beginning stages of this and it seems so neat. My kids love butterflies so this is perfect for them. They get to watch them grow and try to understand how the life process works. They will get to witness the magical transformation from the caterpillars to the butterfly stage. The bungalow is slightly bigger than i thought it was going to be. The set includes: reusable mesh habitat houses that emerge butterflies, chrysalis log, outer pocket stores included magnifying glass, activity guide packed with playful ideas, caterpillar certificate to receive live caterpillars. The live caterpillars will come separately which is fine because they came alive and in their own separate container. My kids love science and its so neat to have them be able to watch this everyday and watch how the caterpillars will evolve. This bungalow could also be used for other things like lightning bugs, moths or other smaller creatures to capture and release. We already have a butterfly wand catcher so this is going to be perfect to keep using over and over. I received this butterfly bungalow in exchange for my honest review and I’m super happy that I did because the kids are loving it!!!

I have an in home daycare and thought this would be the cutest idea for them and I was not disappointed! They all love it and are more interested than anything else we have done. They love the magnifying glass and the look of the bungalow was so much cuter than the one we used to have that was just round. The top did take a little time to adjust so I would put it up before you need to transfer your caterpillars

This was a gift that I wished I had purchased the larvae before giving this house so it could be started at the same time. Because of the weather, it took almost 3 weeks to get the larvae from North Carolina using the certificate. Amazon took 9 days. I won't be buying this again, but I encourage parents and schools to get this because it's interesting and educational.

Everything things was good just I didn't restive the plataform to hold the chrysalis covered lid !

Was charged 2 USD more for shipping and handling (10.95) than what is shown in the product description and on the printed certificate included in the kit.

I bought 8 sets, for all of the teachers on my kindergarten team. The certificates did not come wjth a code on them, so not only do we have to pay for shipping, but for the butterflies themselves. Description said we would only have to pay for shipping.
