As the "teacher" grandmother in the family, I make it a point to always include educational toys with our gifts. This one is perfect, because it is also a lot of fun. Beginning readers like to have hands-on experience learning their words and phrases. The interactive pen is big enough for young hands to grasp, and the hot dog stories are funny but easy for parents and child to learn together. This was a big hit with the birthday 3-year-old boy and his cousins, also all boys. I think we will get them all one too.

I gifted these books to relatives,neighbours and they found it is innovative with sounds and interactive and children like it more..regular books are boring..but educationalinsights hot dog set is excellent..

It worked real good. Will keep my Grandson busy.My Grandson was so excited when he opened his package.

Easy to use and works as anticipated. The pen is large for his little hands, but he enjoys that it talks to him.

We are huge fans of hot dots! My kids (ages 3.5 and 5.5) love doing hot dots daily and I love that there is a variety of different subjects and skills for different ages/grades. I feel like hot dots definitely makes learning at home fun and it has especially been helpful during summer breaks and during this time we are stuck at home because of the pandemic. This interactive storybook set is great for both of my kids to use since it includes 4 storybooks and it is for ages 3-6. It does come with one Ace pen but since we own so many hot dots sets, one of my kids was able to use one of their other Ace pens. The book pages are very thick and high quality so it is perfect for my little kids. The illustrations and story line of each book is engaging and cute. I love that there are a ton of skills covered in each book including alphabet, phonics, counting, colors, shapes, patterns and so much more! One of the many reasons I love hot dots is that my kids are learning while having fun so they don't even realize that it is educational! Hot dots will be so beneficial for us as we continue to keep our kids at home during this upcoming school year. It is definitely one of the best tools to make sure my kids are still learning. Highly recommend this set and all hot dots sets.

I was not aware pen did not read entire story, but it's a great value

I thought the pen was going to be used to help my child read.. Like a read along pen. But you actually have to read them the story and then it will have questions at the bottom for them to answer. Like "find all the rectangles.." some of the objects are too advanced for my kindergartener. And if your pen doesn't go exactly into the "black holes" they have designed to buzz right or wrong, then it will buzz wrong.
