Educational Insights Playfoam Sand ABC Cookie Set is pretty fun. Even I was having a great time squishing the sand around and stamping letters into it with my youngest. She really likes making cookies which you can make 5 full cookies with each colored sand bags. I liked that I can ask her what letter the stamp was and what is the object in the stamp like R is Rocket. I like that she can create and learn at the same time. The sand sticks together well and doesn't cause too much of a mess. Almost like a Play-Doh texture, but not sticky. This is a great sensory activity for any young child.
My two older children ( 4yo and 5yo), had so much fun the the Educational Insights Playfoam Sand ABC Cookie set. My girls love playing kitchen, so this was a great afternoon activity for them! It was clean and easy to use. The letter stamps were fun for spelling names, and making cookies as "gifts" for the adults! We talked about how to spell names and how names are sometimes different than what we call people ( "Mom is not my name, just what you call me."). I loved that it is reusable, and the sand came in resealable pouches. Additionally, the inside of the box is ADORABLE! This is a great gift, and it will be put on my gift list as I prefer giving activities instead of toys! I received this set for free in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This set is very cool. I have 4 kids ranging from 1 to 11 and they all enjoyed this cookie set. The sand doesn't get all over the place and I was brave and let them use it in the house. I would say my 11 uear old was just as engaged as my 3 year old. Very cute and educational. The kods guessed what picture was on each cookie based off of the letters.
Play time was so much fun! My child loved playing with the sand and making "abc cookies" the sand easily clumped together and the colors were nice and vibrant. This put together playtime and learning time. Definitely enjoyed a a parent for my child.
I truly believe that this is a very fun, and educational game for preschoolers and even younger kids. My 3 year old and my one year old loves it. We get to play like we're cooking while at the same time we identify letters colors and get to spend great time together. The material is great quality and I love the packaging. We
My toddler absolutely LOVED this! She was excited that she could mold, mash, and remake the letters over and over. It's been a great hep in getting her to recognize the letters and learn the alphabet, all while being fun! It's a great sensory toy too, I squeezed the sand over and over, and it was so relaxing! The only recommendation I have, is to add a mat or something to play on. Luckily we used it at home, so I used wax paper and a cookie sheet.
This play foam set is so fun. My kids beg to play with it daily! They mixed the two colors of the sand right away but still enjoy playing. I like that it's very easy to clean up. The texture is squishy and soothing without leaving a residue on your hands. My boys like forming different animals with it or making letter cookies for me. My 2.5 year old doesn't recognize his letters yet so this will be beneficial in teaching him.
This is a fun activity not only for younger children still learning the alphabet, but also early elementary children that enjoy sensory play. The play sand isn't as sticky as Playdoh and feels great in little hands. Our only complaint is that the roller tool broke after about 10 minutes of use, but I was able to pop it back together. I would definitely recommend laying paper or a towel down on the play surface to contain the mess.
I used this with my 3 year old. The sand was sooo soft and great for manipulating with your hands. But the tools that they gave to manipulate the sand didn't really work. The tools would work great with play dough but the sand doesn't really press apart it more tears apart. Compared to play dough it's more messy. It's a little finer than the kinetic sand but works very much the same as that. It doesn't hold its shape long and is hard to mold. My 3 yo had quite the mess (even with me sitting there) and he got frustrated when he couldn't cut the cookies out by himself or press the letter imprints down (he doesn't have enough upper body strength). So at the end of the day I think I'll put the tools with my play dough and let my son use the sand with his monster trucks.
This is a fun way to work on teaching ABCs to my 4 year old and 1.5 year old. The sand has a very soft foam like texture that is so engaging to play with. Even as an adult I can sit playing with it for a long time. I would love if it came with a pan to play in because the sand can be messy, but a baking pan works well to contain it so that's not a huge deal. The sand also vacuums up pretty easily so clean up is simple.
