So far so good. I've split close to a cord of oak wood in two days. It hasn't missed a beat. It handles knots like a champ. Assembly to about an hour. First time starting it took a couple dozen cranks but since then it starts usually with one pull - two at the most. I'm very pleased with the splitter.

I highly recommend this product. It is low to the ground so it saves back if you get a set of kneepads and work from the ground that way, I would recommend running it for 1015 minutes and then check your fluid levels as I had to add, I would not recommend using FedEx because when the delivery driver showed up, he just threw the box out of the truck and it slammed to the ground and he didn't even seem to care. I was able to fix the damage because of the shipping, not perfect not pretty, but still able to use the splitter. It's very easy to pull by hand and walk around as it's very well balanced and from a previous review that said a wheel would fall off. They would not with this model because it takes a cotter pin and it's impossible for a wheel to come loose. It was very easy to install, started up easy. I am very happy and feel like I got my moneys worth. I used it for three hours today and split all the wood I had with the help of my seven-year-old grandson that ran the lever and worked like a champ.

Bought this on sale for $649… was the cheapest 20 ton I could find. Just used it for an hour today but it been here 10 days… cause it took me that long to get it all set up. It did great and cranked up on the first pull. No problems with power. However taking a star off for assembly instructions not being good. I had never bought hydraulic oil before and didn't realize how expensive it is. Instructions give the amount you need in liters and don't say what kind… after researching it takes a little less than two gallons of AW/ISO 46… the cheapest I found was at Tractor supply for $42 for 2 gallons. Also I had to buy 10W-40 oil which they did specify… then… the hydraulic lines take a 27 mm wrench and I just bought a fixed 27 mm $9 stubby wrench on Amazon cause the space to turn was too tight and I prefer fixed vs. adjustable wrenches…and wanted those connections nice and tight and not stripped. Basically cost me over $80 additional to get it going but seems to work great but it is loud!!! Starting on every pull though. I used ethanol free gas and full synthetic valvoline oil. Mystic hydraulic oil. I hope this helps… happy splitting!

I would say that the hydraulic oil amount displayed on the side of the log splitter says to add 1.6 gallons of hydraulic oil max, but I put that amount in and I didn't get a reading on the oil dip stick. Otherwise, the machine works just fine for the price. So far, I have had no problems cranking or splitting any size or type of wood. I must admit, I am impressed with the strength and splitting power.

split 1/2 cord of wood very easily, 12" dia hardwood. Only complaint is loose hardware on control valve cover plate and the usual badly written instructions. The amount of hydraulic oil required is understated. Overall, after using it as stated above I am very happy with the splitter.

good price. good splitting power. company needs to fix advertisement splitter valve handle does not return to neutral position when cylinder is retracted automatically , you have to manually disengage it. company worked with me on this issue to my satisfaction.

I purchased the Log Splitter and assembled it only to find out they did not include the control valve handle. I have submitted 2 requests on the Walmart site to the third party seller requesting they send me the missing part. The system sent me an email noting I would be contacted within 48 hours. I have yet to hear anything. Today I called Walmart Customer support who submitted another request to the seller. I'm hoping that will help. QUITE DISAPPOINTING.

Like: Simple enough to put together, although there were some confusing instructions (and it was all pictures). It run fine. Disklike: It didn't split ANY wood. Only mushroomed it, still had to use the sledge hammer and axe to fully split it. First piece of wood messed up the paint on it and made the weld not seem too good. Overall, wouldn't recommend based on my experience with it, but it may work for you.

The box had a large hole in it and had parts missing Walmart said it was non- returnable non-refundable so I will not be ordering anything from Walmart again. When it was delivered the damaged part of the box was set on the ground so it wouldn't show when he took a picture of it. Before I moved it from my front porch I took pictures showing the damage on the box. I won't order from Walmart anymore

I ordered the wood splitter cause it had good reviews for the size and price. I wanted something small that I could put in my truck bed. I wasn't able to start from the beginning. I kept trying to start it and pulling the cord so much that the plastic handle broken and stabbing me in the chest causing skin to break. I was so mad I'll never ordered from online again. also it was a hassle to return it. It is better off going to hardware store that sales wood splitter.
