I bought a new EGO lawnmower equipped with a 7.5 amp hour battery a couple of months ago. As part of the deal, EGO included a free 2.5 amp hour battery. I used it for the first time recently, and it worked just as well as its more powerful sibling. It's great to have a handy relief pitcher to step up to the plate when your starter runs out of juice!
I bought an extra battery for my trimmer but realized I don't even need it because the batteries last a long time. I'm able to get my whole yard done on a single charge. It also charges very quickly compared to other batteries I had from other manufacturers.
I had the same battery type now over 5 years and when I went to put the old one in my blower all I would get was a click and blower wouldn't start up. So since have had old battery for so long figured time to get a new one. What a difference the new one made, has fuel gauge which is a valuable upgrade to check charge on battery. This battery is awesome, works beautifully and so Happy I bought it. But you one, you'll be do glad you did.
I was skeptical but because the EGO systems ranked high on battery powered I thought I would try to get away from gas and I can cut my yard very early in the morning as the neighbors cant hear it. I have not been disappointed with the products! Fast charging batteries, Holds the charge well on 1/4 acre yard with juice to keep going. I guess now I will not return to gas!
Just got it and only used it once. Seems to work just fine. The true test will be time. I purchased an off-name brand last time and I don't think it lasted 2 years. I still have one of the original batteries that is still working fine. I hope the quality of this battery is just as good.
We ended up getting an extra EGO 2.5Ah battery with fuel gauge as part of a promotion, and I'm really glad we did. It's the same battery that comes with the blower, and it's been great. It charges quickly, delivers solid power, and holds up well through use without any drop-off that I've noticed. The biggest benefit for me is having two batteries. Between the two, I can get through our entire property without worrying about running out of power or having to stop and wait on a recharge. The fuel gauge is also really helpful—it's nice to be able to quickly check where you are instead of guessing. Overall, it's reliable, convenient, and definitely worth having a second one if you're using EGO equipment regularly.
This is the battery that came with my weed trimmer, and it lasted 3 years under light usage. I consider that acceptable since all rechargeable batteries fail over time. My only complaint is they are expensive! I also have an Ego lawnmower that is also 3 years old and it came with a 5 amp hour battery which is still going strong but I dread paying for an even larger battery when it dies!
Worked well running the hedge trimmer, these come up short with capacity in heavy going with the chain saw cutting large diameter trees and stumps, reliability issues with the likes of an older 5.0 amp battery that just quit all together and is now headed for recycling
Ego should have a program to rebuild customers batteries. I have 5 Ego products, they're great but the batteries don't last and there needs to be a program to recondition them. It's just a waste.
The meager 2.5 Ah battery that came with the string trimmer I bought 2 years ago lasted about 10 recharge cycles and then quit taking a charge. It should have lasted at least 3 years and 3 times the cucle charges. I feel ripped off, especially considering the price of a replacement.
