My Power+ 580 blower is just excellent. I love the variable speed button for control in delicate spaces and the turbo max blow for quick work on large open areas. It is a little taxing on my forearm after extended use, but I can deal with it. Great product.
My boyfriend bought Ego a few years ago and I loved, loved, it. Then we broke up this year and I was devastated (about losing Ego not him). I swear Ego seems to get stronger and last longer without a charge as you own it. I have a half an acre and a 750 square foot patio and Ego is my relief with all the leaves that want to live on the patio. Now I don't know if this is right but if I get two or three inches of snow (not the heavy wet stuff) I grab Ego rather than a shovel. I love my Ego! No cords and yet she's powerful.
This is a fantastic piece of equipment. I will never use a gas blower again. And because there is no gas or oil mess and odor, I keep it in the laundry room for ready use. In addition to using it after mowing and weedeating the yard, I also blow off the patio several times a week, as well as the carport and driveway area. I even use it to blow away all the bugs that are attracted to the porch light (and all the spiders and their webs that are out to get the bugs). I even use it inside the house for things like blowing debris that gets in the sliding window tracks. It is by far the best blower I have ever used.
I tried 2 of Ryobi blowers, they were fine for hard surfaces such as a driveway, deck, etc, but couldn't handle leaf flowering our small yard. The EGO 5300 worked great, but that came with 2.5Ah battery. Replaced it with the 5804 kit that included the 5Ah battery and that increased the runtime enough that I can get the job done. In fact, we recently had a snowstorm where the snow was a light 3 or 4 inches and I used the blower to clear the cars, driveway, walkway, and deck all on one battery. With the larger battery, I purchased the shoulder strap assuming the extra weight would bother by lower back, but with the extension provided, I have not used the shoulder strap yet. Maybe when used for a couple battery charges. It seems I moved from a noisy gas leaf vacuum to a quiet leaf blower at a perfect time! In fact, we recently had a snow
I'm so happy with the performance of this blower. It's so much stronger than my previous Ryobi power head with blower attachment and my corded electric Yardman (I think that's the brand) blower. It's so convenient to go to the garage, grab my Ego blower and any battery that I pull off the shelf, and clean off the deck and all the deck furniture. Before, I had to hope the dang gasoline blower would start or grab the corded electric blower and mess with the extension cord, which often made me decide "oh, it's not that messy, I'll just do it another day." Now, it's simply "grab it, have fun doing it, then go put it back." I simply LOVE it.
At first I was a little skeptical buying a battery powered blower. My 17 year old Craftsman blower was starting to fall apart and required maintenance every season. After diagnosing that the fuel lines were broke at the start of this spring, I threw in the towel. I read alot of reviews and watched alot of youtube videos before making my purchase. This thing is awesome! Has twice the power as my old gas blower and requires no maintenance. I can even blow the garage out without leaving an exhaust smell. It has enough power that you can feel the thrust it produces when turbo is kicked on. I now own the lawn mower and edger. Happy with my new equipment.
Purchased 4 weeks ago. Strong enough for everyday cleanup. Too heavy for extended work without the strap (I'm 6', 210 lbs., athletic). Your 5-year old daughter could beat me arm wrestling after running this thing for 15 minutes! The durable plastic body is lightweight and well made from quality materials. The battery makes it heavy. Mind you I'm not complaining. The 5.0 mAh battery with a 3-year warranty is what make the system so appealing. The reason we buy something like this is convenience. It just does what you want when you want it to. No buying gas, priming, pulling, changing oil, changing spark plug, buying a new one when none of that works. Grab it and pull the trigger! Need I say more? While the price is premium, its construction is solid with no yet discovered weaknesses. While a bit heavy it's fairly ergonomic. Most will be happy with its performance and convenience for normal work. Best Uses include blowing: porches, patios, decks, garage, driveways, walkways, docks, landscape beds, drying the dog, removing water from windows, cars, boats and the like. Did I mention how cool it looks? Don't expect it to clear an acre of fallen leaves after a rain shower. As of June 2018, I don't know of a battery powered blower that will give you the force a 2-cycle backpack blower can. Get it, you'll be glad you did!
Perfect for a homeowner who has an average amount of yard. Light weight and powerful. The blower is long so might be difficult to handle for shorter persons or kids. I use a 5 amp battery and it is well balanced and not too heavy. I'll be interested to see how it does blowing away light snow. My guess is it will work well.
It is very easy to use and works great. Already did the patio and decks and used it to clean out dirt in the guide for the sliding door. Love it!
I mowed commercially for 13 years, with commercial equipment, so my expectations may automatically be a bit high. I do realize though, this is not commercial equipment. The blower is adequate for blowing grass off of the driveway. I wouldn't want to use it to try and move a bunch of leaves especially in the wind. It just doesn't have the power to do it easily. I hate the Turbo button. Just give it an adjustable trigger that goes from off to full power. I may return it just because of that. It's a nice blower all things considered and should be just fine for the average homeowner.
