I like that the handle is adjustable height. I'm tall and I appreciate the high handle. I like the way this mower can easily convert into 3 different types, bag, mulch or side chute.
At our age lawn care needs to be simple and without a lot of struggle to maneuver a mower. The electric mower is lightweight and self-propelled.We have only used it twice this year, but so far very pleased. Plus, no worries with maintaining gas for the mower, just keep battery charged. With our small yard, no problem with running out of battery power. Oh, and this mower is very powerful!
The EGO is a nice change from my old gas mower. Great to be able to start up with a touch of a button and no issues with gas or oil. Seems well made cuts well and the price was very reasonable. My wife likes the fact that it so much quieter than the old mower, and the extra battery was a nice extra. Highly recommend this mower.
I only need this mower to cut a few places my riding mower won't operate. This only takes less than an hour and the battery is more than 50% charged. It's very east to move and I'm well into my senior years. There is very little maintenance compared to our gas powered machines
This is my second Ego and this one has better mulching capabilities and reduces the “Mohawk” effect of longer grass where the center of the mower passes over. However, I was disappointed with how quickly the motor overheated and shut down in slightly long grass.
I bought this mower about a month ago and am very unhappy with the ergonomics of having to hold the start lever with my hand and then use my thumbs for the self propulsion. Causes a lot pain in my hands when mowing and for days after. The mower is also very difficult to turn.
The mower is quiet and the battery charging is easy and efficient. I'm disappointed with the discharge chute and the discharging of the grass. The chute doesn't tightly secure to the mower and the grass doesn't propel out of the mower. It just seems to clump and fall out a short distance away.
Takes a little getting used to but pretty easy. Never used a rear wheel drive, so a little bit harder to turn than a front wheel drive where you just raise the front wheels. Like that you can control the speed, but would have preferred to vary the speed by how tightly I grip the handle. Battery has more than enough power to do my whole yard. Using the mulching blade set, it seems to leave some blades uncut. I am removing quite a bit of grass, so perhaps I need to follow directions and not take off as much (but my 15 year old gas with a worn out dull blade did better) Nice to not have to deal with gas.
During the fourth time that I mowed my grass the right rear wheel started locking up periodically so the mower was no longer self-propelled. Based on other reviews that I've now read this seems to have been a common problem for several years now. I took the mower to a registered EGO repair shop where "they are waiting for parts." It's ridiculous that the mower needed repairs after only 4 uses. My lawn is less than 1/3 acre!
The mower didn't have the safety flap as indicated on page 19 of the user's manual. Only had two of the four blades, and there was other missing pieces. I attempted to contact EGO and like their mower, it was crappy No one bothered to call me back. For the cost of the machine, I expected more from EGO ...
