Ego ME0800 8" Cordless Electric Walk Behind Power Edger

Easy to put together, more power than anticipated. First use, made adjustment to blade depth to 2" work really well. Best to use a bigger battery than 2.5 amp, draws a lot of power. Drained battery in about 20 minutes with continuous use. That said I have multiple EGO batteries to choose from and use.

Perfect compliment to my EGO lawn mower, weed wicker and leaf blower. Works great and set of all is that each tool has interchangeable batteries ensuring you never run out of power. Greta choice!

Absolutely love my new edger. It exceeds my expectations. It is powerful and does a great job much better than my older corded edger. Highly recommend!!

Edger is rugged and does a great job. The unit is a little heavy with the weight of the battery, but the harness helps. I do have one suggested design change. I'm 6'1” tall and when I stand erect the cut is too deep with wheel in the bottom of the slot (blade in the highest position). It might work it I were shorter. Needs a deeper slot or larger diameter wheel. Also the edger and the power head did not connect easily, so I had to take it back to my place of purchase and they assembled it for me!

Grass had overgrown my driveway and sidewalk to the point where each was narrower by almost a foot. In the past I've used a string trimmer to cut it back but this was far too much. I worried it would even challenge the edger. I like my Ego mower so much I thought I'd try their edger too. The battery I had for my mower worked which was a plus. The edger surprised me with how easily it maneuvered and cut away the grass. The only minus was the weight of the larger battery for the mower. I have since bought a smaller battery. The edging looks nice and the next effort will just look even better. I liked it so much I also bought the string trimmer and the Hedge Trimmer.

I was always hoping for electric tools with the power and endurance of gas fueled equipment. Ego has provided that in their multi-head 56v system. The quality is outstanding in build, performance and maintenance. There's no motor to adjust or maintain, fuel/oil to mix or additives to add. I use this edger on an acre property with no loss in power, no noticeable heat build up in the battery and non stop edging except to retrace my steps ( I walk too fast). With the supplied battery there is always 50 to 25% battery power remaining when I'm done. Not really light in weight but well balanced and easy to use. Just have to check and add grease (very little) very seldom. It's great that I can change to higher or lower amp/hr batteries depending on need & usage. After 1 1/2 years of simple, trouble free use I purchased the trimmer attachment a week ago and there is no difference. Pure quality and happiness. Quiet operation compared to the 4 cycle motor weed eater I was using before. To be honest the sound of an electric motor to me is very relaxing/calming (just whirring right along performing perfectly. Easy, rewarding, simple, tough, capable and a joy to work with. That's EGO. Thanks for bringing my dream tools to life. Now I've got my eyes on that T6 42" lawn mower. Looking for a sale to come along.

The one item that would make the multihead a 5 would be to add/make available shoulder strap connections. With any of the attachments connected, the end product is a heavy, unbalanced tool. It's a small addition to a product that would make it more usable for all.

It cuts well and is fairly easy to use. The one thing I wish could be changed is the depth of the edge detector. As is, it isn't all that effective. It is absolutely necessary to keep you eye on the ridge line on top of the blade guard and move very carefully to have any hope of keeping the blade from contacting hardscape.

the edger works very well. the only negative is it's just a little top heavy for me due to the battery weight. that's the only reason for not giving 5 stars. outside of that it works very well.

This worked great for about six months, then the spindle started skipping resulting in the blade turning intermittently. This resulted in the edger not cutting at all. It's in the sop right now for warranty work.
