Ego Power+ 10 Inch Telescopic Pole Saw (Bare Tool)

I was hesitant to buy a battery powered pole saw but since I am happy with my Ego leaf blower and string trimmer I decided to take a chance. This thing can cut. I have five queen palms that constantly need trimming and this saw makes quick work of it. I wasn't sure if it would cut thru the fibrous fronds very well but it did well. You have to tighten the chain every few minutes but it is quick and easy to do so. I use the Ego brand chain saw oil because it is not petroleum based and I don't want to contaminate my pool. Good job Ego!

The saw has adequate power, the carbon fiber pole is light enough to be manageable, the oil reservoir holds enough and administered the bar oil in a smart amount, the chain was easily adjustable and I found the unit easy to clean. All around a good saw and intelligent design.

I had been looking at many pole saw options, and stumbled across the Ego version. Since I already had purchased and been extremely happy with many Ego products, it was a no-brainer to purchase this product. Set up instructions are easy to follow, and were completed quickly. Given that it's electric, it starts / stops easily, unlike gas powered units. I use it to prune back lower hanging tree branches, and it accomplishes this task quickly and easily. The pole does extend out ~ 20" for a total end-to-end of ~9'. At that length, it does get a bit more difficult to maneuver. A few minor downside notes however: 1) the box doesn't indicate that you will need to purchase chain/bar oil; 2) the bar seems to sag fairly quickly, requiring often (but easy) adjustment; 3) I did have an issue while cutting that it stopped working...turned out that I had to un-install and re-install the shaft, and it began working again.

I bought this 2 weeks ago after wishing to get it 3 months ago. I haven't used it yet as it was truly designed to be used but how I did use it, I'm truly impressed, It's first mission was to help me remove a huge bougainvillea plant that my wife planed years ago but we both came to hate as the thorns were hurting us. It had to go. This tool helped me piece this up at safe distance without too much pain. I'm really looking forward to using it for my original intentions which was low branches on my property. I have no doubt that it will work great. I'm also very impressed with the battery life.

I've had my EGO pole saws for 2 weeks and love the power it has. It's so nice to be able to adjust the chain tension by just turning a knob and the 10 inch saw cuts everything effortlessly. I just wish there was a control to change the angle of the saw.Its ease of operation and controls are superb. The reach is adequate for most of my trees.

I have wanted this tool for s long time, and I finally got it. Very glad that I did. It really is as good as I thought. Since I already have some EGO tools and the batteries are all interchangeable, it was reasonably priced for just the pole saw. It really is the best!

Very good cutting & reach. Precision wasn't an issue for the task at hand. Ergonomics & stability were good, though the whole apparatus was heavier than expected. The shoulder strap should help with that. Super handy that it takes the same battery as our blower & string trimmer. I would consider another Ego product if the need arose.

I use this to cut palm fronds, so it takes some effort given how tough and fibrous they are. You do need to clean it afterwards as the saw dust gets in every nook and cranny. I have it stored carefully on its side with the fill cap facing down and with the chain head wrapped given others complaints of the oil leaking. So far it has not done that. I use a much higher quality chain oil than the EGO brand. Be aware these devices are heavy and ungainly when fully extended. It does take some strength. I bought the optional 3.3 foot extension pole which is a ridiculously expensive add-on. I just wish the slide extension included this length. In the end it gets the job done for moderately high (12 feet) and moderately thick (several inches) branches.

We both had trouble with assembly as the instructions were not great. He was able to get it on the third try (I gave up). I suggest EGO print on the unit to insure blade is placed in the correct direction - would have saved us some aggravation (again we BOTH followed the instructions and had to do it over several times - even when we thought we had it correct). I almost returned the unit! Once assemble properly, it worked well and as anticipated.

Would crank but would not run steady. was cutting on then off. had to call in for autheorization to have warranty work done. closest service dealer was 30 miles away. has been in shop for 17 days so far. very disappointed here it is spring in FL and i cannot use my new tool!
