I Love my Gnarl Jr. He feels like he might have a bit more power than my 18" Ego chainsaw, Gnarl Sr. Hopefully Senior is able to be repaired as he is currently in the shop. I have always been very afraid to operate chainsaws and challenged myself to turn my fear into respect. Gnarl Sr. was just the saw I needed to accomplish this. I no longer need to seek assistance for the smaller to mid-size tasks around my property that demands a chainsaw.
Bought this this for use on our farm and I don't think our gas saws will get used much anymore. Used it right away to take care of a few fallen trees from storm damage and thought i'd for sure need to charge the battery midway through but after limbing all the trees and cutting the trunks into firewood the battery was at 50% - couldn't believe it. Also love the ability to just drop the saw and adjust the logs without it loudly idling like gas saws.
Seems like a great product so far. Excellent power to cut easily, quieter than a gas saw and lighter weight for better maneuverability . Battery retains power very well and vibration is negligible. Great tool for homeowners and gardeners. Highly recommend for medium duty use.
After two weeks I'm very impressed. No struggling with starting. Instant power. One big surprise I am pleased with. When you put the chainsaw down to move wood pieces., it stops. No worries about it vibrating one moving. Since it's off, no noise to yell over to a co-worker. Plenty of power.
I have only used this saw a couple times at this point but I love how smooth it runs and the automatic oiling is great compared to my old plug in saw. Battery life is good and helped by the other 2 batteries I have from my other EGO products. I look forward to years of service from this saw.
Easy to grab and go, none of this 'is the gas fresh' or 'where are the chain adjustment tools'. I own several EGO tools so a battery is always ready and the chain adjustment tools are built into the EGO saw. Just keep the bar oil where you can find it and you're ready to go. I also keep an extra chain around, all saws work best with a sharp chain.
I bought this after a big ice storm came to our area and many trees and limbs came down. Our property was not affected much but neighbors and our church needed clean up. The saw worked wonderfully, cutting easily through up to about 10 inch diameter logs. The battery only went down 2 bars after almost 2 hours of constant cutting. Very easy to clean. The bar chain oil reservoir is a bit small and had to be refilled 2 times in addition to being full to begin with. Not a big deal but just be sure you have a bottle on hand during operation. Great little saw, love it!
Bought this instead of gas to be able to use the battery for my ego sno blower. So far it has not dissapoint being able to have longer run time. The only thing is the blade got dull quite often because of the type of wood being cut, other than that, its a strong electric chainsaw. I got the 16".
Haven't used to cut a big tree, but I did use on a lot of 3 inch diameter trees, was like knife cutting through butter. And no mixing oil and gas, cleaning air filter are the loudness of a gas saw! Planning on cutting a 10 inch diameter tree soon, so will see if it's up to it?
This chainsaw is top notch. I put it to the test cutting 2 large trees down. This thing worked better than my gas powered saws. Very impressed with the power and torque. Cut these trees down using a single chain and it is still cutting. Of course, I had to switch out batteries but other than that I give it a AAA rating so far.
