We had a rare mid winter deep freeze in south and lost a lot of palms. We bought this to cut down. It was easy to use it cut though the trees quickly and cleanly. I already had the battery for a leaf blower I own. Pleased with the purchased. It saved me money in long run doing the work myself.
After two weeks I'm very impressed. No struggling with starting. Instant power. One big surprise I am pleased with. When you put the chainsaw down to move wood pieces., it stops. No worries about it vibrating one moving. Since it's off, no noise to yell over to a co-worker. Plenty of power.
I have only used this saw a couple times at this point but I love how smooth it runs and the automatic oiling is great compared to my old plug in saw. Battery life is good and helped by the other 2 batteries I have from my other EGO products. I look forward to years of service from this saw.
Used it one time for about 45 minutes to cut up a falling neighbors tree that was on my fence . I-was impressed with the power and ease of use . Battery held up good and chain stayed sharp. The saw is a little heavy compared to my 16” gas saw but I expected that because of the battery weight. Over all a good choice compared to my gas saw. I am 84 years old and am going to as many battery tools as I can and this one was a winner .
Really happy with this 16” chain saw. I use it mostly for bucking, limbing and cutting small trees. It replaces a Stihl MS250 I had that was stolen. The little 2.5 battery handles a surprising amount of work. The new chain does stretch. Mine jumped off the sprocket after a few hours of first use. I will have to check chain tension more often.
Easy to grab and go, none of this 'is the gas fresh' or 'where are the chain adjustment tools'. I own several EGO tools so a battery is always ready and the chain adjustment tools are built into the EGO saw. Just keep the bar oil where you can find it and you're ready to go. I also keep an extra chain around, all saws work best with a sharp chain.
Seems like a great product so far. Excellent power to cut easily, quieter than a gas saw and lighter weight for better maneuverability . Battery retains power very well and vibration is negligible. Great tool for homeowners and gardeners. Highly recommend for medium duty use.
I had several branches that I needed to remove that were thicker than I could handle with pruning sheers, and an invasive Brazilian Pepper tree that needed to come down. The eGo chainsaw was surprisingly powerful and cut through 3-inch limbs with ease. Thee best part was not having to fiddle with gasoline, a pull cord, and a stubborn carburetor. Just slide in the battery and go. The 16-inch chainsaw shares the 2.5 amp battery with my other eGo tools so the extra investment was very manageable.
I Love my Gnarl Jr. He feels like he might have a bit more power than my 18" Ego chainsaw, Gnarl Sr. Hopefully Senior is able to be repaired as he is currently in the shop. I have always been very afraid to operate chainsaws and challenged myself to turn my fear into respect. Gnarl Sr. was just the saw I needed to accomplish this. I no longer need to seek assistance for the smaller to mid-size tasks around my property that demands a chainsaw.
Overall, the Ego Power+ 16" chain saw is a good product. It was easy to use and cut very well. The removeable side cover made clean out a breeze. One negative aspect of the product is the difficulty seeing the chain oil level without removing the cap since the reservoir and Ego oil are both light colors. However, that is a minor issue. I'm pleased with the product and would purchase again.
