This is my second string trimmer and my fifth EGO tool. All tools perform very well. Would suggest that you lower the cost of replacement batteries. May not need a new tool, but the cost of the battery is more than the tool + battery in the end. As you product promotes an alternative to gasoline powered tools, it seems wasteful to purchase another tool just to get a replacement batter.
The POWER+ 16” POWERLOAD™ String Trimmer with the Telescopic Carbon Fiber Shaft has completely transformed my yard-work routine. The POWERLOAD™ feature alone is worth every penny — reloading string, which used to be the most frustrating part of trimming, is now unbelievably fast and effortless. One push of a button and it's ready to go. The carbon fiber shaft makes a huge difference, too. It's incredibly strong but amazingly lightweight, so my arms don't feel exhausted after finishing the yard. The telescopic adjustment is another standout feature—it gives you the perfect fit no matter your height, making the whole experience more comfortable and precise. Performance-wise, this trimmer is a beast. The 16" cutting swath chews through thick grass and overgrown edges with ease, and the power stays consistent from start to finish. It feels like professional-grade equipment but is simple enough for anyone to use. Overall, this trimmer is one of the best investments I've made for my home. Durable, efficient, user-friendly, and packed with genuinely useful features — I highly recommend it to anyone who wants power and convenience without the hassle.
I have only used the trimmer one time, but what a difference between this piece of equipment and my previous trimmer. And I really liked my previous trimmer. The EGO is a larger diameter string and doesn't break as easily as my other. With the auto reload feature for installing new line onto the spool, that is one task I am looking forward to not having to manually perform. With the yard care season winding down, getting more comfortable with the EGO will have to wait till next Spring, but I'm sure it will not disappoint.
If you're debating between the line iQ or not it is such a nice feature. The ability to just get the work done without having to pay attention to the line breaking down is so nice. To be fair you'll have to decide for yourself if the cost is worth the convenience.
Everything about this trimmer is very nice. Lots of power, easy reloading, plenty long for a taller person yet adjustable for shorter, etc. The two things I think are important to consider after I've used it a few times are 1. It is heavier than my past trimmer but I don't think it's too heavy. The optional strap might be good if using for extended sessions. 2. The 16i cutting area is large and it makes trimming in some tighter spots difficult.
I have two of these, and they've been excellent so far. They offer strong cutting power, long battery life, and have proven to be a very dependable choice. The line‑loading is super easy, the tool is lightweight, and overall extremely convenient to use. My wife even uses it often, which says a lot about how user‑friendly it is.
I am 80 years old and I love this new weed eater. Love the balance and the easy adjustability of it. It is a bit heavy but the balance helps. I have ordered the strap for it, It comes with the strap adaptor for the shaft. My neighbor came over and checked it out and I believe that he is going to buy one also. I already have the EGO 21" self-propelled lawn mower and have been using it for 2 years. Love it also.
Seems good after two uses. Automatic line feed is overrated. Trimmer requires bumping on the ground occasionally. It's powerful and the battery charge lasts. This is the 16”. For yards with a lot of corners and tight areas the smaller models will be better. Far superior to the craftsman I had to return due to lack of power.
Great product. It is easy to load and strong enough to handle thick growth. I initially purchased the 15 inch manual load but I found it too hard to remove the string cap and lacking the power needed to handle thick growth of weeds during my initial spring cleanups.
EGO sells too many different products with various retailers. I thought I had purchased the trimmer with IQ, but after using it found out it only had t he power load feature. So it pretty much works like every other trimmer I've ever owned and am stuck with my poor ability to figure out the myriad of EGO SKUs.
