This bad boy will chuck more wood than a woodchuck could chuck wood! I used it on two fairly substantial trees that were damaged in a storm. This 20” bar sliced through it like a ninja sword. No bog down - No getting stuck. 18-24” diameter tree size and I'd get around 9-14 cuts before I needed to swap batteries. Honestly, that's impressive for a battery powered chainsaw on that size tree, and more than enough ninja power for a residential homeowner. Just like every other EGO Power piece of equipment, it proved to be well made, dependable and full of awesomeness!
Every bit as much zip and power as my old gas Husquevarna; and really love that when the cut is done, the power is off - no idling engine burning gas as I move wood around. The only negative I would have is that with a bigger battery, it's a pretty heavy unit; but I'm OK with that as I wanted the bigger bar.
It's an excellent chainsaw because i proved it to myself by cutting up 2ft diameter oak tree without any problems just fast efficient cutting chain then job was done down here in south Texas. I highly recommend this trouble-free with easy operation and a battery that keeps constant needed power to get done.
This saw is incredible! I was skeptical at first since it's my first battery-powered chainsaw, but it completely exceeded my expectations. It cut through a large oak tree with no problem and had plenty of power throughout. The best part? No loud gas engine noise — just smooth, quiet performance. I'm extremely happy with this purchase!
Great chainsaw that works better than my gas-powered. My only critiques are the weight, the battery has to cool before recharging, and the battery drains fairly quickly. A second battery is nearly as expensive as the chainsaw kit.
The chainsaw works well. It cuts quickly. Unfortunately the battery dies after about 10 minutes of hard, solid running. It can do about 11 cuts on an oak trunk 20" in diameter. It isn't a deal breaker for me since this is for personal use and not a business. It lasts longer when cutting up other parts of the tree. It takes a little bit over an hour to recharge the battery. It is great having a powerful saw that has virtually no maintenance. I would purchase it again.
Very nice powerful chain saw. Fast cutting. Dropped one star as the chain is an unusual link count limiting options and the drive rim design makes changing chains more difficult than with my other saws.
If you want cutting speed and power, instant start up and longer battery life, this is the saw for you. On the other hand, if you're 120 lbs and under, you might want to start a weight lifting program before running this saw for any length of time. It is beefy. I knew what I was getting into, so it's not like I was surprised, but it is all of the 14-15 lbs it says it is, with the battery. I wanted a chain length of at least 18”, so this one is great. And it's going to keep me fit, too…
I like most everything about this saw. What has come in very handy is the fact I can rise at 6am and cut up fallen trees without waking my neighbors. No mixing fuel is another plus along with no starting problems. I know there won't be any rotted gas lines at the end of the year. It is heavy and a little light on power.
This saw performs fine, but beware that it is quite heavy to use, the battery doesn't last as long as I expected (<20 min even on the low power setting), and it does not provide nearly as much cutting power as a gas or plug-in electric model. However, it is really nice to be untethered from a power cord, and free from gas spills and very loud saws!
