I like the freedom of a battery operated hedge trimmer, versus cord and gas power. However, I needed a trimmer more powerful with a bigger cut for a hedge growing out to the road. I couldn’t see the mailbox anymore until I was on top of it. I looked up commercial hedge trimmers. This one came up. I bought my daughter all Ego equipment for her small property (mower, weed trimmer, leaf blower, snow thrower), so I thought, why not? I was pleasantly surprised how well it performed! I cut a 75’ hedge back ten inches cutting some branches 3/4” thick. If this is what you are considering, you won’t be disappointed.
I've only used the product once and eager for the next opportunity. It's easy to use and lightweight. It cuts evenly and does not overwhelm me with vibration. It's balanced and allowed me to adjust the angle of cut and navigate to right the areas that needed addressing.
I bought this about a month ago. My old corded trimmers were getting on my nerves with having to drag out the extension cord, dull blades and having to watch for the cord the whole time using it. I felt after all the years of using that thing I would treat myself to a good cordless unit. Having owned the ECO cordless yard trimmer for years I knew ECO makes quality products. This hedge trimmer every thing I could have hoped for and is way safer to operate without fighting a cord all the time!
From the first moment you power up this trimmer, the sound, construction and weight feels premium for me. I have a typical five-thousand square-foot lot with average needs but I like using equipment that gets good results. I own the mower, grass trimmer, leaf blower and now the hedge trimmer. All of these EGo products have exceeded my expectation. To me, the EGo system has no equal for my needs.
I've put this EGO 26" hedge trimmer through several sessions now and I'm genuinely impressed. The build quality is solid, the battery lasts longer than I expected, and it cuts through overgrown hedges without hesitation. My initial concern was the three-button activation sequence required to start the blade. It seemed like it would be cumbersome and slow things down. After a few uses, though, I completely came around — when you're swinging a set of fast-moving blades around your yard, a little built-in hesitation is actually a good thing. It becomes second nature quickly, and I stopped noticing it altogether. If you're on the fence between this and a gas trimmer, don't hesitate. No fumes, no pull cord, no mix ratio to worry about — just grab it and go. Highly recommend. BTW, be careful when hanging the trimmer with the blade cover ON. I wasn't careful and the trimmer came out of the cover, crashing to the ground. After that I'll see how long the trimmer lasts over time.
I recently purchased the 26” hedge trimmer kit and used it last week to trim my white pine trees. I am impressed with both the power and battery life! The overall design is well thought out. I recommend this trimmer to anyone interested in a quality machine!
I bought this hedger because my "guy" that does that stuff for me is currently dealing with a new baby. I didn't want to deal with trimming the bushes but it had to be done. I got the Ego product because I have 5 other Ego products and they are all top of the line. This hedger nailed it trimming my bushes and it didn't wear me out doing it.
Tons of power and easy on the battery. Truly a replacement for a corded version. Not as loud either, like all Ego products, so easy on the ears relatively speaking. It gets a 4 rating for the lack of cutting blades on the end of the bar which defeats the point of a 26" bar, and I personally do not like the forced two-hand use because of the safety switch in the front grip. So I tied it down with a zip tie and it worked without it, allowing me to stretch out for single grip cuts when cutting across the top of a hedge. Overall I am very happy with it though.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Equipment is lighter than your standard gas trimmer, having the 1 1/2 gap between the shears is really nice. Having no vibration is great too. The cutting is precise and it seems to be durable right, hope it will hold up for many years.
I had to finally replace my old Trimmers as they died. I could not believe how bad they were cutting until I used my Ego trimmers For the first time. They are awesome. Cut like butter and also cut my trimming time by 2/3 the time. Now I actually am looking forward to trimming my bushes.
