I am so happy I upgraded my toro zero turn for this mower. Even my wife uses it with our dump kart trailer for landscape work. The double bagger is a must. Surprised it did not come with the mulching plug. Battery life is excellent and it is quieter than any other mower out there. Comfortable, easy to drive, lots of options and features.
Used my new mower to tackle 5 acres of grass/weeds/hay that had grown wild for 8 months. Cut large portions on each charge, and fully recharged quickly, allowing me to complete the task over a couple of mornings. Incredibly easy to learn while using. And very quiet. Well worth the cost.
I bought the Ego EZ Steer to replace a gas powered Hustler mower. I own many other Ego tools and the Hustler was the only machine I had left that used gas. I figured it was time to just replace it. The Hustler is a fine mower but the Ego has done as well mowing my lawn. I own an Ego edger, string trimmer, leaf blower, snow blower, push mower and now the riding mower. I have absolutely loved my new mower. The features are really nicely done. The electronics are a really good thing to have. It has plenty of power and cuts my fescue very nicely. I use the 4 12 Ah batteries it came with and a couple of 6 Ah batteries from my snow blower. I have an average sized suburban lawn that is about 1/2 acre. I can mow my lawn about 4 times before needing a charge. I run the mower in standard mode with the speed and blade speed set to two. The thing just cuts. I will add the bagger soon but for now I am side discharging. I am sure once I install the bagger I will run the blades full speed so I imagine I'll only get a couple of mows out of the batteries. For now I am very pleased with my purchase. Any of you on the fence, don't be. This mower will do the job for you and is a blast to operate.
This machine is great. I don't regret this purchase at all, regardless of cost. It is wide and extremely efficient. HOWEVER, their bagger leaves a lot to be desired. I will leave a review for the bagger on that product page; just know that the bagger was one of the reasons I purchased this machine.
My dad is 89 years young and wanted a zero turn for the 5 acre yard. He did not want a gasoline zero turn and he insisted he wanted a steering wheel to steer like a car. Thankfully we found one your EGO model. He love's it plus he likes the comfortable seat.
Have a doggy knee and this helps, saves alot of time and pain. Can do both front and back yards in about 40 minutes. Trim and edge with othwr Ego tools in an additional 20 minutes. Way more efficient than using a walk behind. It doesn't get in the corners like a walk behind and I am still figuring out a pattern to make it faster/more efficient. So far it is a great buy.
Product is very good. I purchased last fall with the leaf bagger attachment. The mulching and pick up of leaves is good - but with the two blades, you do get some lines. The removal of the bagger for spring mowing is ok for one person to do, but the side shoot takes some additional manipulation. I find the power for cutting spring grass is very good. Do watch how sharply you turn to avoid the wheels ripping up pieces of your lawn, especially if the ground is a bit soft from rain. I have two sloped areas of my yard. You definitely want to be careful on the direction that you drive on slopes to avoid the machine sliding or tipping. Charges quickly and battery life is good. It also has a useful hitch which allows me to pull a small wagon when needed.
Very nice ride and plenty of power. Especially like the adjustable blade speed. The mower gives a very even cut on level ground or when mowing sideways on a slope. HOWEVER, do not try to take this mower straight down a hill or downwards at an angle while mowing. While coasting, the mower completely loses steering control and the brakes won't stop it. Fortunately, there was a rock pile that stopped me before going off of an embankment at the edge of my yard. This is a safety issue that should be resolved by EGO. See a YouTube video by Howard Kettner in which he shows and describes the steering issue perfectly.
Requires 3 recharges to cut 1.5 acres, which is not consistent with what was advertised. Otherwise cuts grass well. Very maneuverable but bounces about on slightly uneven lawn surfaces. Charges quickly. Easy to operate. Was a pain to register. Each of 4 batteries, charger, and body of mower serial numbers needed to be separately entered at web site.
Cut the grass very well. Have issues when trimming a 6' dia and smaller. The rear wheel makes a smaller radius than the mower deck. Making it impossible to trim a radius with out running over the plants just in side edging.
