EGO POWER+ 56V 10" Pole Saw Attachment for Cordless Power Head (Bare Tool)

A nice addition to my collection of attachments for the Multi-head system. It works well if used within its design limitations. Cuts saplings and low hanging branches with ease. The chain oiling system is gravity fed, so either drain the bar oil before you store it or store it with the chain pointing upwards.

Powerful saw that is easy to handle. Cuts through thick limbs and branches with ease. With the extension it reaches anything that needs cutting. Very satisfied.

The pole saw works surprisingly well for such a little chainsaw. I cleared out a brushy tangle from my neighbors overgrown bush that was pushing over my fence, plus limbed branches up to 8'-10' from a row of 12 large fir trees along my driveway, all in a couple of hours. Made a brush pile the size of a garden shed PDQ.

Used it today to trim some small branches (1" to 2" diameters) on the oak tree in my yard. The chain saw cut through them pretty quickly and with little effort. The powerhead was more than adequate to run the chain saw attachment and I had not problem with battery. My only two minor complaints is that the unit is not shipped with chainsaw oil and that you need to drain the oil from the tank when your done or else it will leak out.

I bought the power head and the pole saw at the same time to trim some trees. As with all my other EGO products the instructions are straight forward and easy to follow. The only thing you need to buy is Chain and Bar oil. I put the two pieces together and added the oil and I was off and cutting. The combo has a good reach although I imagine that with and extra extension it could be rather unwieldy but I am 69 years old so a younger person may not find it so. I had no trouble using them and they cut without any bucking or problems. The fact that when you release the power paddle the chain stops immediately is great. The only thing I think that might raise a problem is that the safety button on the power head, that allows the power paddle to be engaged, is located on the left side of the head and can easily be depressed with a thumb if you are right handed. I don't know how a left handed person would find this arrangement.

My saw attachment finally arrived after a three-month wait and the past week I made good use of it. It works great, plenty of power, cuts fast. But it is heavy--13.5 lbs including the 2.0 AH battery plus 2 more pounds for the extension. That makes it hard to handle if you have to use a ladder because the total length of 91 inches, or 122" with extension allows you to reach only low branches standing on the ground. Despite the weight, I would not trade it for a gas-powered saw. The ability to run it only when ready to cut, no gas engine maintenance, and no power cord is unbeatable. And no complaint about the $99 price. I also have the 14" Ego chain saw and the string weed trimmer, which came with batteries. This enables me always to have a charged battery available for these tools.

I have only used it on a few branches, so far so good. It's nice and sharp and will come in handy around my property.

I am happy with the way the saw cuts. I bought the extension so I can reach higher limbs. It works well. The only thing I don't like is the screw for tightening the chain is awkward to get to. The provided tool is also an allen wrench and the angle gets in the way hitting the saw blade. There is a holder for the tool on the handle which is nice.

Great product. Works very well. Detachable from main unit is quick and easy. Attacking to the main unit can be a challenge along with all the attachments to fully seat the unit.

Great like the rest of my new EGO tools. Compared to my 2 cycle gas pole saw this is a wonderful improvement. I had the regular EGO 16" chainsaw was hoping the pole saw chain tensioning would be the same slick set up as the 16" but this pole saw has the old hex wrench screwdriver tension set up not the easy knob turn found on the 16. Maybe next gen they will make this pole saw as easy to adjust.
