The EGO 880 CFM blower is well designed and a much, much more powerful tool than my previous battery blower (different brand). This blower quickly moves leaves away from shrub roots that the other blower struggled to do. I am glad to have made the switch to EGO.
In comparison to the 650 CFM I already have, the 880 blower is more powerful. Using either nozzle attachment, I can easily clean light dry snow (up to 5cm) off my driveway. The spread nozzle works better to remove snow as it attacks a larger area than the tapered nozzle. I expected that the higher power of the 880 blower would burn through the battery quicker (good thing I have two 7.5 AH and two 5.0 AH batteries). So far, I've been able to finish cleaning my driveway within a ten minute timeframe. I also appreciate the inclusion of a shoulder strap which means I don't have to share the strap from my weed trimmer
Very powerful and light weight(without battery) I am using it right now for snow clearing with the battery backpack and 7.5 AH battery on long sidewalk. The digital display is a nice touch. The trigger lock is a bit awkward to use but I think I will get use to it. Has lots of power without using turbo mode. I also have a first generation 5.0 AH OEM Battery but blower won't go higher than 2 ot of 4 bars and wont go into turbo.
I haven't actually blown any leaves yet but I did clean the garage floor. It didn't leaf any dust behind either. Wow! I think I could blow the leaves off the trees if I wanted. I plan on seeing how much snow it will blow too. I wonder if I could blow the dog hair out of the car?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow! This blower has incredible power. I have been trying to clean a screened pool enclosure that gets about two inches of fine, heavy tree debris on the roof. I tried a garden hose and even a pressure washer with an extension pole and it just wasn't doing the job. Trying to clean it with water just added more weight to the matted mess. For many years I've had an EGO string trimmer and it's been great so I decided to try this blower out and with the extension tubes I bought and it does a great job. Of course, it also does a great job of clearing my driveway, walkways and garage. It is a bit heavy, but is well balanced. While it's an expensive blower it's worth every penny. I will say that while charging the batteries it does give off a plasticky smell but think that will lessen over time as it did with my string trimmer batteries.
I own the EGO 520CFM model and wanted more power. This. has it. The battery level indicator on the handle is handy, but I the main feature is the variable speed trigger. On my older model, the speed control was a separate "dial." With one hand you can go from minimal to turbo. It requires the larger battery to use turbo. It weighs more than the 520CFM, but overall it's worth it. The EGO brand is solid. I own their string trimmer, their chain saw and snow shovel.
1) I bought the POWER+ 880 CFM Cordless Blower (Tool Only) because I already had an EGO Chain Saw and Weedwhacker that came with 2.5ah batteries. But when I put the 2.5ah battery in the 880 Blower, I was very disappointed in the small amount of blowing force. So, I went to the EGO website and asked questions about batteries. There I found out that the 880 CFM Blower required at least a 4.0ah battery to operate properly. So, I bought a 5.0ah battery and it made all the difference in the world! The leaf Blower performed as expected with a strong blowing force! 2) The 880 Blower comes with a shoulder strap that has a SINGLE connection point at the bottom left side of the Blower. This makes the Blower awkward to balance in your hands during use. A SINGLE connection point should be in the Top Middle of the Blower so it stays balanced when in use.
I bought this when my gas powered leaf blower finally quit. I have an EGO edger and a chain saw. I am very happy with those. I am pleased with the EGO leaf blower's power and features except the battery life is not enough to complete the job required for cleanup after yard work. I have a 56V, 5ah battery that I thought would be more than enough. Unfortunately, I will need to buy a second over-priced battery so I do not have to stop and wait for the current one to recharge so I can finish the job each time I mow and edge the yard.
Airflow is amazing on this little thing. And the noise is not loud at all. It blows exactly what I need and can even move a lot of the rocks if you are not careful. Adjust the speed with a squeeze of the trigger or acyivate "turbo" mode and watch things fly! I was using the 5 amp battery and with it fully charged I used about 1 out of the 5 charge lights within a 10-15 min time frame. I did not use turbo mode as much bc it drains the battery REALLY fast, do use sparingly if you must. It comes with a strap to help for the weight, bc its actually pretty light until you attach the battery.
Not sure if I am completely happy or not with this product. I purchased the 765 CFM version which died after maybe 2 years. Literally stopped running mid-operation. Needing a blower for fall AND not wanting to go with a new brand and replace batteries, I selected the 880 CFM. Works just fine but still wondering if this will die in two years as well. I considered taking the 765 in for repair but thought the cost to fix was probably close to buying a new unit only. Must say, really makes me question buying this product line in the future. 2 years worth if use before the unit stops working is really pathetic.
