Amazing Chainsaw

Dustin Ponce August 1, 2024

This chainsaw greatly exceeds my expectations. We have gas chainsaws and the EGO 20” commercial chainsaw is way more convenient. There is no pull start, it's not loud, it's safer, the technology is unmatched and it cuts faster then my 20” Stihl farm boss. By far my favorite chainsaw.

EGO to the rescue

Greyman July 28, 2024

I have never owned a chainsaw and only operated them a handful of times in my life. My area was recently hit by a tornado in Nebraska, so I needed one to assist with a large clean-up. Being very familiar with EGO, I purchased the Commercial 20” chain saw kit and quickly put it to work for 2 weeks on tree trunks/limbs ranging from 3” to over 2' in diameter. As with all EGO tools, operation was easy, safe, and the power was astounding. It did not bog down or kick back once during use and other than being heavy, was exactly the tool needed for the job. Chainsaws can be an intimidating tool, but this one gave me confidence in it's use and I was able to help a lot of people.

The saw was amazing to use the first time. It had all the power that was needed.

Great chainsaw

Jaxeb May 6, 2024

Saw the one review one star and had to say something cause this saw is GREAT, and a great price compared to some of the other commercial electric chainsaws out there. Its just a great quiet chainsaw, plenty of power. batteries do get hot kinda quick under heavy loads which is to be expected and it stops you but if you have extras swap em out get back to it while the other cools. No I'm not gonna grab this if im cutting all day and got cords of logs to cut up but it definitely could and sometimes i just get sick of the noise on my gas saws.

Nice cordless chainsaw

This saw performs quit well with decent power. It is 2 ibs heavier than my gas saw but I can live with it. Nice not having to pull start all the time.

Solid EGO Chainsaw

csaw04 June 13, 2024

Disclaimer: I am a homeowner with a few acres of wooded property and not a professional day-to-day user of a chainsaw. I mainly use this saw to clear paths and make firewood for campfire. So far, this saw has worked well for me and met expectations of a good EGO product. I would not hesitate to recommend this to someone looking for a battery powered chainsaw. I've purchased several ECO saws over the years, and they continue to get better. Pros: Plenty of power, even on the lowest speed Build quality appears to be good Worked with smaller 5 Ah batteries I own, but limited to low speed. Still plenty of power even on this speed. Uses a common chainsaw chain size, and spare chains available from multiple sources Cons: No storage of the scrench on the saw itself Heavy as compared to a smaller EGO chainsaw that I own, especially with the included battery. Probably not an issue for someone younger or stronger than me Battery overheating issues, but only when pushing this saw very hard

Home owner

Kstet May 19, 2024

I am a homeowner just processing firewood. I have it for a few weeks now and it's good for what it is. First off buy an aftermarket chain the one it comes with is just awful. But other than that typical battery power tools it'll over heat if you throw a lot of load at it quickly and it takes awhile to charge batteries. But it will eat anything I can throw at it. Anyway would this replace a gas saw? No way!

Not yet ready for prime time

John 70 July 21, 2024

I own both the CSX5000 and the CS2000. I put them both through their real test this weekend when I cut down and cut up a 20" choke cherry tree. The 5000 overheated the 12ah battery rather quickly. Then I put the 8ah battery in and was only able to make a couple of cuts before the saw itself overheated! So it was done for quite a while. I was able to finish up the trunk with the CS2000. it overheated it's 6ah battery; but I had a couple of 7.5ah batteries to finish the trunk. The CSX5000 is a very powerful saw; it just has a problem with heat management.

NOT Commercial Grade

Johnathan R Willams August 9, 2024

This is in no way acceptable for commercial use. Using any battery smaller than 8ah will cause the battery to get so hot you cannot fully discharge the battery before the battery triggers the tool to shutdown. When using 10ah or 12ah the battery will not shut down but they do get very hot and the 10ah and 12ah bring on a new problem - you can only use 1 battery before the saw overheats and shuts down. When the saw shuts down that is a long wait. Any size battery you use get so hot you can feel the heat thru the plastic housing. The temperature inside the cells is likely even hotter and if you're not aware when batteries are this hot it shortens their usable life I would guess this much heat can't be good for the saw electronics either. When using the 28ah battery the battery will commutate with the CSX5000 and only allow the saw to run in eco mode which is the lowest power setting on the CSX5000. When running in eco mode the saw will overheat and shutdown when the 28ah has about 50% charge remaining. Are you ready to see for yourself powerful battery operated tools are not ready for market and shorten the life of your batteries in the process? Buy the CSX5000 today!

Worked great... once.

SSTumbler April 26, 2024

Purchased this commercial grade chain saw in March of '24. Used it twice, and on the second outing of bucking up some white pine the chain tensioner peg snapped in half under completely normal operating conditions. Will be requesting a refund to purchase a superior product. I am the second hand owner of a classic 14" Ego chainsaw and have been impressed with it's capability over the last four years of use. Disappointed to see this "commercial" grade product not meet the same standard.
