EGO Power+ Cordless String Trimmer 15In Rapid Reload Head Kit

I have a small farm (15 acres) and have a combination of heavy duty and lightweight weed eating. The battery unit has no difficulty with the heavy duty work and is very convenient for lightweight weed eating. 4A battery is sufficient for most of my needs and for long sessions I simply have a second 4A battery in case of need. It is great to have no 2-stroke sound. The unit is very convenient, feeds the line very well and is easy to load. High recommended. This is a quality unit that is well designed.

BEST part is that it started up FIRST TIME ( not like my gas powered Echo, which is why I went electric). Plenty of power to mow down the toughest weeds. I used my 5.0 battery and it was still going strong when I became worn out and had to quit. Everything worked great.

It was a little iffy in the beginning. It took a little bit to figure out which way to turn it when edging the grass. Other than that it's been a little champ. I had some higher weeds - which that too can be a little problamatic. When I wen't out to the front yard it worked like a champ. I'm happy!

I love the fact that your company makes the power pack batteries work in all of the different tools. The leaf blower is wonderful, I use it on the turbo boost all the time and it is equal to my gas blower that I used to have. And the Weedwhacker/trimmer is wonderful because it extends and fits me because I am a tall person I do not have to stoop over. Thanks for a great product Robert.

It works great! The string jammed and I had to open it; I found out how hard is to open it and put it back on. It is too big for my hand to squeeze the two sides to open and I used a tool to squeeze one side at a time. My hands hurt trying to open it. That's a drawback.

Works great and gets the job done effortlessly, have to say that I'm pretty impressed with the Ego products. I have leaf blower, whipper snipper and push lawn mower. I was disappointed with the size of the battery that came with the whipper snipper but obviously I'll live with it.

Two years, worked great cuts well and battery last long enough to do a large yard, but recently the switch/trigger has been failing. The part that I needed is no longer available from EGO which is really strange for a tool this new. Luckily I found one online at a dealer. It is tough to install so we will see after it is replaced. My biggest worry is what will happen in another couple of years when I need some other part? will it be available? Will battery powered prove as reliable as gas over the long haul???

So far I've been disappointed with the trimmer due to the string not advancing. I am not sure whether it's an issue with me or the design or something else. Tapping the head on a firm surface seems to do nothing. I've had to remove the string and reload it a couple of times to at least get some string out so I can do some trimming. If I am able to figure this out or hear back from Ego on how to resolve this issue, I will revisit this review

Well I don't have the same issues I had with my other trimmer as far as the line getting sucked back into the head, the tap feature to rapidly release the line doesn't work well, and because the head on the bottom is so large, you have to really find the right angle in order to get it to actually trim the edge of the lawn.

I've used this trimmer twice and I don't like it as well as my old one. Maybe I still need to get used to it. I have trouble aligning the head to the grass I want to trim and sometimes cut the grass too low. The tap line feed doesn't work well. I have to turn the trimmer over and feed the line manually.
