Purchased this Ego PS1420 Multi-Powerhead to Replace an Ego PS1000 Pole Saw that became a nightmare to operate. This new Ego Multi-Powerhead can be used with several attachments one of which is an upgraded Pole Saw that is a huge improvement over the PS1000 which is a Proprietary tool that blades are like unicorns (hard to find any OEM or aftermarket that fit). If you are in the market for any Ego yard equipment this is the Powerhead you need. There are several attachments designed for it like a Pole Saw, String Trimmer, Sidewalk Edger, Tiller, Hedge Trimmer, etc. Be sure to try some 7 and 10 Amp batteries with this. They are heavier but last a lot longer than the 2.5 and 5 amp batteries.
Powerful, and easy to use, the string trimmer of the future is here now! With its speed adjustment options the automatic loading of replacement string, this version of a time tested string trimmer has removed all of the frustrating parts of string trimming. Oh, and did I mention no more messy 2 cycle gas and oil mix in a fuel can? Mo more pulling on a starting rope like a wild man while flipping on and off the choke only to hope and pray it starts so you can finish trimming, yeah all of that is gone with the simple change of a spare battery. Life has enough stress, string trimming should not be. Highly recommend this product, get yours and get happy
The power head is great, very well built. But I had trouble mating it with my snow shovel, it wouldn't go together. I finally put the battery in the power head, against the instructions, spun the power head, and it slid right together. Always following the instructions isn't always the best advice.
Bought this tool to expand my EGO collection, and to enable me to use any of the many tools that fit this power head. It is well-balanced, uses the EGO-standard batteries, and is easy to store. It does takes some practice at first when using with compatible tools. I highly recommend using the available strap to help balance and control whatever tool head you may choose. This is going to be a nice replacement for some of my other tools - edgers, trimmers, etc., and a real space saver, too. Lastly, no further need for long, heavy cords, and/or gasoline and it assorted maintenance requirements.
Great so far. It's light weight, but powerful. Wish the strap were more comfortable and easy to keep untangled and padded-side to body. I use a 10ah battery, which makes if very heavy, but it lasts all day. I've used the pole saw with the 2ah battery and was skeptical it would last, but it went well and didn't run out while I limbed a tree with it, so I'll keep using the 2ah unless I'm working on my full 3 acres. If I had more 2ah batteries, I'd just use those and swap them out as they died. I like the two-power level option.
After owning an Ego lawnmower and also an Ego string trimmer, I wanted to add an edger to my tool collection. Watched enough reviews and stuck with Ego and decided to purchase the carbon shaft multi head tool. It's a bit heavy in my opinion but I'm glad this came with the shoulder strap as I had to purchase that separately with my carbon string trimmer. I wanted this new power head with the carbon shaft as I prefer the trigger lock system and variable speed trigger as it's the same as the string trimmer versus the old power head. Now I keep looked at the other attachments and waiting for the lawn dethatcher to come out in Canada next.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Heavier than I expected when brush is connected. Came wit the shoulder strap, which I appreciate. Works well, must be careful when attaching the tools, be sure to listen for the click, no click, no work.
I am very happy with every ego product I have. Quality tools that always work. Also, after about eight years of using ego products, I am still surprised with tool power usage and battery life and when the battery does deplete, I almost always underestimate how quick the charge time is.
I bought the Gen 2 power head, the only required assembly was adding the supporting handle which I was unable to attach; the circumference of the handle bar opening was too small to fit the power head bar. The UTube instruction video of the handle install showed it easily snapping onto the Power Head bar. I called EGO support and they are sending another handle, assuming a manufacturing defect. The combination of the handle, the small 56V battery and brush attachment are a little heavy to use continuously longer than 10-15 minutes. I am hoping that once the handle is attached it will provide better weight distribution.
I closed on my house in October 2026 & I couldn't wait to be able to purchase my lawn equipment & I was more excited to go with EGO multi head Power+. I can't wait until spring season so I could put it to use. I plan on having everything EGO in my garage.
