Our new e-Steer is a joy

DuhWrightGuy March 31, 2026

We are enjoying the newest addition to the tool shed. The learning curve for the e-Steer took a few minutes to get use to. Starting the mower was so different from the old combustion engine mover. The thing that made it so different was the lack of noise. The mower is absolutely silent. Unlike the hybrid that make an audible noise. Once we got use to starting the mower is was on to driving the e-Steer. I struggled with over steering the mower. Once I got use to not over steering it was off to mowing. The mower is a great mower and does a good job of cutting the lawn at a consistent height and turning on a dime. I am impressed the power and maneuverability of the e-Steer. I no longer have to use both hands to mow the lawn. I am very impressed with the ease of charging the e-Steer mower. I envisioned a charger that required each of the batteries to be removed from the mower to be charged, but that is NOT the case. The batteries were at 30% after our first mowing, so of course I wanted to charge them. I drove the e-Steer into the garage, parked it by the charger and plugged the charger cord into the e-Steer charging port. Came back in three hours and the mower was fully charged and ready to go again. It's really that easy. I am impressed

Learning curve

Bev1 May 5, 2026

I purchased my EZsteer mower a month ago. Not sure if this is age related but there is quite a learning curve going from a gas lawn tractor to an electric zero turn mower. After 5 mowing cycles I am feeling more comfortable with the mower (I don't need the manual in hand to start it anymore😀). Easy to charge, very comfortable seat. Still adjusting but for being almost 78 I feel like I'm transitioning really well. I have several other EGO products and like everything I've bought.

Nice mower

Anonymous July 12, 2026

Mower seems solid, batteries good for about 2-1/2 hours of mowing. Steering takes some getting used to. Can mow my lawn in about half the time it used to take. Considered other brands due to high price but already have several other EGO tools so this made sense. Would recommend to those who can afford it.

Works as Advertised

Rjrednose June 1, 2026

This is my first riding lawnmower. Only used it twice and went from 2.5 hours to cut 0.5 acres to 38 mins. Battery level went down to 64% when I was done. I'm 6'4” 215 lbs. I have no problems ergonomically with the fit or comfort. The cut is sharp. I like the anti-scalping blades as I have a couple of troughs on my property that would scalp the opposite side without this device. Zero Turn is a zero turn it is when it says it is. Solidly constructed. I like this mower and recommended it.

I Love my EGO Mower!

mlbcougar June 30, 2026

I bought this a couple of months ago. It's my first zero turn mower so it's hard to compare to others. However, I did a lot of research before buying. It seems to be built well. I have enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. I love the low maintenance and low noise. My neighbor told me had has never heard me mow my lawn since I bought it. I was looking for an electric zero turn mower with "on board charging". The steering wheel is an extra bonus. It has made it easier to learn since I have never used the sticks. It will also be easier for my wife to learn when she needs to mow the lawn. I am very pleased with it so far.

42 inch zero turn eSTEER mower

Bill0408 May 24, 2026

Having never had a zero turn mower before, it takes a little practice to get used to it and competent. If both wheels aren't firmly on the ground, the steering is ineffective. The battery power and run time seem good.

I love this Zero turn Riding mower with e-steer. I cut my cutting time is half. Its quiet and starts every time. Super easy machine. Almost wish I had a little more grass to cut. LOL

Great design

Marty1 May 21, 2026

I bought the EGO 42” Zero Turn mower and compared to previous gas powered mowers, this is a wonderful product. The blades cut the grass evenly and the steering is excellent. The ergonomics for the driver are well thought out. The only minor complaint is the bagger tube will periodically “plug” with grass when cutting higher grass. I just reduce the width of the cut when this starts to happen.

Steering wheel, tires, battery, and hitch

Small tweeks April 18, 2026

I've used this mower for a few weeks now. The only issues I've found are that the bar which holds the steering wheel tends to move. The tires could use more gripping power for hills. Battery bank allows you to use the batteries on other tools and can still run short a battery, but the mower doesn't give an accurate read on how much battery power is then available.Lastly, if Ego could add a combo hitch, one with a two inch receiver as well as the ring that it currently has, the mower's functionality would increase greatly.

Not great on bumpy, rolling lawns that mansions.

Web_Parrot May 6, 2026

All the examples (reviews as well) show this mower on perfectly flat, level, manicured lawns. The reality is that most lawns are not level, flat, and smooth... like mine. Lacking any kind of suspension or capability to torsion the frame makes maneuvering this thing like negotiating a rock field on a slab with hard wheels. On the slightest, angled slope, front wheels will lift off the ground, leaving a real challenge to control the rear drive wheels. It is way too difficult to avoid oversteer. Maneuvering close to small trees, poles, utility pole cables is particularly hazardous, especially if you're not going in a straight line. The rear tires extend slightly further outwards and the obstacle can get caught between the mower deck, frame, rear wheels, front wheels, etc. Without the ability to STEER the front wheels it is nearly impossible to free oneself. AND... braking on a downward slope, particularly if there is the slightest off-angle descent, is nearly impossible. 1- because there are no BRAKES!, and 2- because you have to rely on stopping the wheels (or trying to reverse something), you tear up your lawn. FWIW, I'm doing all my mowing using the lowest control setting and slow to medium speeds. And, I'm experiencing all the negative handling characteristics of this pseudo-zero turn mower. All in all, I would have appreciated some more CLEAR company/manufacturer labeling AND videos showing the safe way to maneuver various terrains AS WELL AS videos showing those that are highly discouraged .... in fact dangerous.
