EGO ST1523S 56V Brushless Lithium-Ion 15 in. Cordless POWERLOAD String Trimmer with Carbon Fiber Shaft Kit (4 Ah)

I bought it a couple weeks ago and I've used it in the yard and it has plenty of power cuts down, thick vegetation, and the battery last a long time the auto string load feature is nice very nice. A lot lighter and easier to handle than my gas trimmer and doesn't fatigue my hands as much overall very satisfied.

I don't usually post reviews but gotta give credit where credit is due. This is the best weed eater I have ever used. The self winding option is simple and works great. After starting a two acre project and much beer and drama I threw the old gas powered weed eater in the dirt and bought this. Put it to the test and it worked great. It did burn through the batteries but had some extra from previous purchases. Save yourself some drama and buy one of these you won't regret it.

I have had this about two weeks and am stunned by how powerful it is. This last two days I used it to mow a field that is too wet for a tractor or mower. I had to swap out batteries, but since I have a few, that was no big deal. I love the self loading feature for the trim line.

Well balanced and light easy to handle could benefit with a extended handle have not used in dry weeds yet I like the old type bump line feeder didn't like the line iq might be trouble battery has done well so trying to be Less dependent on mixed gas tools would buy again

Purchased this trimmer after 5 years of owning a 40 volt model from another manufacturer. The battery on that one was getting tired. This EGO trimmer doesn't know when to quit and we'll cut anything in its path. Be careful.

I have a decent size yard and this trimmer is able to do it all with that small and light battery. It's light enough that I can turn it on its side and edge along cement and objects, which can take me quite a while. I often do parts of my neighbor's yard since my battery still has power to spare. I also appreciate how easy it is to feed new string. Just thread it through the two holes, make the lengths of string are even, and press the Powerload button. The string is pulled in and ready to go. I remember old trimmers that required the spool be removed and new string wound around it. I then had to try and get it back on without the string springing out. I honestly don't know how the process on the Ego trimmer could be simpler. I hadn't done yard work in over a decade, but decided it was time to do so now that I am retired. I bought all new battery powered Ego products and couldn't imagine going back to gas powered. I love not having to go to the gas station, draining gas for winter storage, dealing with engine maintenance, fumes, etc. I just grab a battery and go. Ego has more than enough power to tackle my yard.

Still getting used to my new 15" Ego string trimmer. It's certainly an upgrade from my older, gas powered trimmer. Much lighter, much easier to reload the string and the battery charge is great (I have 3 Ego tools using the same battery). But not as easy to "trim" vertically as my previous tools. Maybe I just need to use it more. The angle of the trimmer head makes it a bit awkward to cut a clean line vertically.

Ease of loading new string is great! My biggest complaint about my previous string trimmer was the hassle of loading new string. The power load feature is awesome.

Overall, the string trimmer works well. Easy to use, easy to charge. I really appreciated the PowerLoad feature while it worked. Unfortunately, it broke after about 18 months of use. There's a part that has failed and cannot be replace without replacing the entire head. Poor design or fatal flaw?

Carbon fiber is nice, The disappointing part is when I had bought it, 2021, the pictures were not as clear as they are now, and the picture online and on the box showed the trimmer in two pieces, leading me to believe the drive was a shaft drive that allowed for other attachments. Well, the box and images were the way they were for smaller retail storage maybe. The shaft needed to be bolted together and the drive is just at the head with a coated wire harness running the length of the shaft. Still a good trimmer, the auto load is where its at.
