I originally purchased the hedge trimmer which was great, so I thought I would buy the blower too, it's nice they use the same batteries , I have a gas one that really blows to , but not In a good way , you can't go wrong with ego products , and I don't think anyone has a better warranty
This cordless leaf blower is just the right fit for a couple of old geezers like us. In our mid-70s, we aren't as strong as we used to be, and this lightweight leaf blower is quite manageable. Its “normal” power does the job until we encounter a deep accumulation of leaves, or some wetter ones, then turning the dial or pressing the turbo button gives a spurt of wind that gets them moving. Frankly, the rate at which this tool consumes the battery outlasts our endurance, so when the battery requires charging, so do we! It's also great to be able to share our one 56-volt battery between our Ego string trimmer and our Ego leaf blower.
Overall, a very nice machine. A bit heavy with all that battery, but good balance. Have to stay aware that the intake is on the bottom, so you can't get down close to grade when blowing out nooks & crannies -- it'll pull up everything off the ground & give you blocking issues. I love using it to blowdry my freshly-washed cars.
56V Lithium-Ion Cordless Blower is simple and easy to use as well as easily charged. I really like having the turbo button to give additional power for certain spots/areas. I use it to blow of 800 sq.ft. of veranda and an additional patio. I have lots of furniture with cushions that collect dust which the cordless blower takes care of that with ease and no tangled cords. I am then able to blow off the front porch, 3 car garage and long driveway quick and easy. Again, no cord to deal with and trip over. I love it.
I've had this for about a week now (I'm a daily user), so I've had time to get acquainted with it. I've found that I really have to press the turbo button to get power comparable to my corded blower. So, this means reduced run time and I'll either have to get another battery or break up my work. The 4 amp hour battery would be better, but that is quite expensive and adds two pounds to the weight. I wonder if a reducing adapter would help increase velocity. The blower tube is quite wide maintains a constant width. Overall, the blower is nice and I don't have to drag a cord, but I think run time issue will be an irritant.
The gas powered leaf blower I had vibrated very bad and hurt my hands. This EGO leaf blower does not vibrate or hurt my hands. It is light weight and clears the area very well but....the battery only last 15 to 20 minutes then goes dead and the unit stops. I run the speed mostly between low and high and only occasionally hit the turbo button. Also during that 15 and 20 minutes I stop the unit several times. I really like the EGO leaf blower but I am very disappointed in the battery. Other battery operated tools come with two batteries and they operate longer. Again though, the leaf blower is very good.
It's a good product. My only complaint is the battery needs to last longer. It says one hour on the marketing material, but that is only on a low setting. The blower works best on the high setting.
Disappointed, I purchased this blower to blow leaves out of my gravel road drainage ditch after reading all the reviews. After walking up hill for an 1/8 mile four times and still didn't finish the job. The blower worked fine but the battery was only good for 7 to 8 minutes. I returned the blower to Home Depot and purchased a gas blower for the same price that did the job great with only one trip up hill. If you have a small area this may work good, but don't plan on doing any heavy leaf blowing.
I have taken it back because I was very disappointed in the battery length and the power it put out. Had to put it on turbo all the time to blow anything.
With only 18 minutes of battery operation at high speed, the blower is impractical for those with lots of leaves. The cost of an additional battery is too high. At low speed, it works on hard surfaces (drive/walks & Deck) but not in cleaning out around shrubs and evergreens; it also isn't good at low speed for blowing large piles of leaves. Additionally, the tip should be angled so it won't blow mulch along with the leaves.
