I love the old tv sitcoms that I grew up with watching, and I almost forgot about Eight is Enough. Watching this show again, it brings back great memories of being a kid, even though my childhood years were nothing like it. Still a great show with values and clean happy endings which is rare for TV shows now. Walmarts price is way cheaper than the other online retailer , and this is a Studio set which is superior in quality.

One of my favorite TV shows as a kid.

Blondebombshell2118 April 19, 2013

Eight is Enough was in my opinion was one of the best TV shows in Prime TV. Myself being one of 7 children certainly identified with this family being that I had older siblings the same age as some of the older kids, me being closest to Nicholas, the youngest's age. The shows makes me feel young again as it's first telecast was 3/15/77 and last telecast being 8/29/81. Being that I was almost 6 when it aired and shortly after turning 10 was the very last episode, the plot of the show & primary focus was Tom Bradford, played by Dick Van Patten, head of household and columnist for the Sacremento Register, patriarch to Joan Bradford played by Diana Hyland passed away from cancer at the end of the first season who was only in 5 episodes from the that season including the pilot raising 8 independent children with age ranges from age 22 and the youngest being 8, the trials & tribulations of growing up and topics relevant in prime time TV such as Bra Burning, drugs, alcohol, & single parenthood. With Tom being a widower in the second season, he finds love with a pretty school teacher Abby, played by Betty Buckley who comes to tutor one the Bradford kids and not coincidental, she too was recently widowed. Before you know it love is in the air for Tom & Abby and shortly afterwards Abby marries into the family in that same season and start a new life. During the shows 4 year run, although I was too young to be educated on most of these topics, it makes you family life with the challenges & joys of growing up.

Season 2 kept you wanting more!

WalmartCustomer August 14, 2024

This classic 70's show brings back the warmth that only the Bradfords could provide. It's genuine and the storylines are fresh. The same producers who would take a different slant with 'Dallas' a year or so later used this approach to keep you glued to the set. Every kid has their own mission. The cast are beloved to this day - easy to binge!

The DVD ARE NOT QUALITY SILVER/GOLD FACTORY LIKE. THE DVDs ARE DVD-/ R AND PURPLE HOME LOW QUALITY WITHOUT SCRATCH RESISTANT OR thicker. IS THIS WALMART REPRODUCING IT WITH A LICENSE USING HOME POOR QUALITY CRAP?? I BOUGHT 3 OTHER SEASONS NOT FROM WALMART AND ALL ARE FACTORY COLOR AND QUALITY DVDs. Be warned these purple backing thin and cheap DVDs will not last and are shady quality.. be careful.
