Eightwood Police Radio Scanner Antenna with Uniden Bearcat Whistler Radio Shack Scanner

I set up an old 12v dash radio inside my metal work shed, solar powered. It needed an external antenna to overcome the static from light fixtures. I made a 3 foot mast from a scrap of metal and mounted this outside on the roof. It works and I am happy. I could have wired up my own antenna with some coax cable and wire but this was cheap and easy and it has the right connector. The antenna cable was plenty long enough. Keep in mind that the antenna itself is quite short, less than a foot long.

I got about what I expected in a low cost scanner antenna. If you live in an urban area it should work fine, but don't bother with it if you expect it to work in rural areas. Most states don't allow scanner use in motor vehicles, so I'm rating it for home use. It works best up high and away from metal objects. Mine is in a window,

My brother loved this. it makes his police scanner wrk correctly. he has sommuch fun with it. as he is autisic he enjoys the sound of the police scanner at night as it comforts him. now he can get a peaceful sleep with his scanner on amd know whats happening around him and feel safer. Definitely would recommand to anyone whos looking to purchase this item, as it does work really well. It annoys me but it makes my brither happy so its worth every penny it took to buy it for him.

This keeps me going pulling in even distant frequencys on my scanner and at great price.

I received the item but I was expecting it to be a little bigger. it was so small but I guess it was just not in the description. I don't think it's a problem but expectation is half of the end result. just be aware if you buy one it's only about a foot long total....

I never received the item. it was NEVER DELIVERED TO ME. I contacted customer service and there was no resolution and I am out the money.
