Too Plastic and Unrealistic Looking
I really want to be positive about this item but there isn’t much to say. Even for the price, I expected a little more quality. We ordered a Pecan colored 48â€x6â€x8†mantel. The dimensions are correct but the actual piece looks like it belongs in a cartoon. It is insanely plastic-looking and only slightly resembles anything made from wood. It’s very shiny and because of the material it’s made of (some sort of plastic foam), I am afraid to sand and/or paint it. I have to return the mantel or else my wife will likely murder me in my sleep if I was to mount the thing. Maybe other colors are more realistic? Who knows...but Pecan is being returned for sure
