El Monterey Beef & Bean Chimichangas, 30.4 oz, 8 Count (Frozen)

I do recall picking them up from being delivered and placing them in the freezer. I kept hearing the timer on the microwave going off and I thought nothing of that, that is until I decided to try one and could not find the in the freezer. The box and several wrappers were in the kitchen trash. That means one thing...they were good and nobody saved me one.

The photo I attached is a plate of food with everything bought at Walmart. Positive reviews led me to purchase the El Monterey chimichangas. they are quick and easy to prepare and you can build a meal around them. Here's a tip...wrap each one with a DAMP (not wet) paper towel before you microwave. that will keep the tortilla soft and pliable from end to end. The Great Value brand of items on the plate are: seasoned black beans, large black olives, thick and chunky salsa and extra sharp cheddar cheese. Delicious! I also added some radishes for color and used Ben's jasmine rice (microwavable cup) and mixed with black beans. With grocery prices going up, this is a very cost-effective way to have a snack or a meal, lickity split. So let's talk food. I heated this chimichanga up, took a bite, and immediately felt the universe pause like it was waiting for my reaction. And guess what? It's good. Shockingly good. Beefy, beany, and wrapped in a tortilla that doesn't disintegrate like my hopes and dreams. If you're expecting gourmet cuisine, you're in the wrong movie. But if you want a reliable, tasty, freezer‑aisle hero that won't betray you, this is your guy. Now, because I'm contractually obligated to break the fourth wall: yes, you, the person reading this review, are absolutely judging my life choices. And you should. I'm reviewing a chimichanga from the frozen section. But you're also here reading it, so who's really winning? Spoiler: it's me. And also the chimichanga, because it's delicious enough that I didn't throw it at the wall for dramatic effect. In conclusion: El Monterey Beef %26 Bean Chimichangas are the kind of snack that makes you say, “Yeah, I'll eat another one,” even though you know full well you shouldn't. And I respect that. the texture is okay as long as you're not on the ends where there's more tortilla. I like the flavor, I like the handiness of having something to eat when you're on the go. value is exceptionally great for the amount of burritos you get. it is good as a snack but I wouldn't say it's a healthy snack if you're watching fats and carbohydrates

We really like these chimichangas. After eatting thses, we like them better than burritos. i thaw them a little, bake in the oven and put Campbells canned chili over them and shredded cheddar cheese on top. Easy to fix, good taste, protein. Reasonable price.

Still a great value and great taste. However, they don't contain as much meat as they did about a year ago. They cook up perfectly in the oven if you want that crisp texture. Sodium content is not an issue for our households. We serve with broccoli, carrots, or salad. We are not gluten sensitive.

I used to love these, but now they're just okay. Like so many things these days, they've gotten smaller, and the recipe seems different. I wish they had just raised the price a little and kept the quality I enjoyed. Just a bit of guacamole on top takes it to the next level.

I got one pack of this and one pack of the chicken, I tried the chicken first and thought to myself "Man this is horrible, no way the beef could be this bad" and I was right, it was even worse yet. I am disabled and can't return this item or I would return both it and the chicken flavor. I had been buying another brand but this was cheaper, it is quite apparent why it was cheaper. Do not buy this unless you do not like the person you are feeding it to.

WAY TOO EXPENSIVE! You continue to raise prices in this economy to keep profits high. We need relief, not gouging. No more for my family %26 I, we are done. you raise prices constantly, and these taste like chemicals now because the real food has been replaced.
