Pleased with it so far. Easy and clear to install. Will update when I finally take it on a ride with the kayak.
i didn't buy this for a kayak. i bought it to haul LytStyx easier than before. i had a Thule roof rack from 1999 and it fit on the crossbars prefectly. i feel it is very well built and overkill for my use but should be peffect to haul anything it is desjgned to haul . it was easy to mount for kayaks
The best product I could find for the price! Definitely worth it.
Work perfectly. I liked that they were scratch resistant with a coating on the steel. Straps fit great.
Recently I purchased two kayaks. While trying to figure out a DIY project, I searched for ideas. At first I thought the brackets looked a little lame. But the cost of materials to build one myself far exceed the price you had for your brackets. I decided to go for it and i'm glad I did. Unbelievable ! The shipping was timely and when I opened the partial, wow, everything that was included was great and very sturdy. The adjustability was perfect, the straps worked easily. Yesterday we gave the boats a test run and the loading etc was easy with our new rack. Great product. As soon as I am sending this to you, I have two friends who are also Kayaking enthusiast who will be getting your info. I definitely will be back again. Thanks again for a great product.
works perfectly
I was searching web to see if anyone has built a simple kayak rack so I could use it as an example to build my own, the price is what sold me to just buy it and check it off my to do list.
I was a little skeptical about how well it would work but was happy with how secure it felt when the kayak was on. However the thin foam around the brackets has started to tear after the first use. I'm hoping the foam doesn't tear off completely. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The sturdiness of the steel racks is just what I was hoping it would be. I have two 13' heavy Predator kayaks and mounted the racks on a custom low ride trailer. The racks work great, but the foam covering ripped right off the racks the very first time I pulled the kayaks over them. Rubber dipped coating would have been better. Wrapped them with gorilla tape. Problem solved. Brackets are made for square tube mounting, not round.
poor directions/ doesn't fit all racks/ better off with j hooks
