e.l.f. SKIN Bright Icon Vitamin C + E + Ferulic Face Serum, 1 fl oz

So I absolutely love this. It makes the skin immediately brighter and more healthy looking. I’m hoping it helps with my acne scarring as well as I want it to. However, I’ve learned in my years of caring for my skin, that unless you’re gonna shell out $50 or more for it, a vitamin C serum is going to smell kinda weird. This one smells exactly like hot dog water. It works well enough that I don’t care. After a few hours I don’t even smell it anyways.

I have never had a product on my face that I’ve had an intense reaction to until now. My face is swollen, itchy, and covered in hives! I love E.L.F. products so I was extremely excited for this! But within 24 hours my skin was red, puffy, and covered in hives. I do not have sensitive skin at all and I have no allergies, but my skin HATED this product. Be careful.

I really wanted to like this serum as a less expensive option for another serum I've been using. It has the right ingredients, though the texture is more watery than what I'm used to. The absolute deal breaker for me is the SMELL - it smells just like jerky dog treats to me. The smell doesn't seem to fade, at least not fast enough - I had to wash my face because I couldn't stand it anymore. This is unfortunately going in the trash, so zero money saved.

Ferulic acid is not a replacement for Hyaluronic acid. I thought it would be ok. This broke my face out terribly and beyond itchy. My skin is very even toned and clear. I decided to try this instead of my usual urban skin rx even tone super glow serum w/vitamin c %26 hyaluronic acid. Definitely the wrong decision for me. Once I get my face to clear up, I'll go back to my usual.

Have never, ever submitted a review for any product on here. However, I have to warn other people. The scent is absolutely the worst thing ever. Truly. Tried to fight through it. Nothing would get rid of it. Used it one time. One. And will not ever use it again. Do not buy this product. The smell is horrendous.

It smells absolutely atrocious. Let’s just get the elephant out of the room. It smells like something died in that bottle. The texture of the product isn’t what I wanted, but it isn’t bad. The problem is the smell and the reaction and I don’t have sensitive skin whatsoever. My skin right now four days post usage is high school level of hideous. The bottle is thrown in the garbage I’ll never get my money back and honestly whatever. Just beware this stuff will burn you up. Maybe use it a couple days a week treat it like tretinoin I don’t know. I think it’s hot stinky garbage

Have used Vit C serum for years and this one will dry you out and leave your skin with a burning feeling. I had to use a much thicker face cream to tone down the dryness and it felt like I was getting bumps all over my face like I was a teenager and I’m 49. Do not recommend.

I thought I'd try this serum because it's half the price of the one I'd been using, but when I opened it up, it was a dark amber color - meaning it had already gone bad! So, it's worthless. I guess you get what you pay for. I definitely won't be ordering it again.

This feels sticky and tacky on my skin. Not recommended

Make sure to follow directions and do a "patch test". Very strong! Made my skin like rough leather. I love all the other e.l.f. products I have ever tried!
